Deus Ex II: Invisible War
Well, I bought the sequel to Deus Ex. This time, I really set out trying to kill as few people as possible until I figured out who the good guys were. It was a lot of work with the riot baton and tranq gun.
I did have one incident where I hit a guard with tranq darts, successfully knocking her unconcious. Unfortunately, destroying a nearby automated turrent killed the guard. On her desk was a picture of her husband. I restored the game and tried again. It's those touches that sets Deus Ex apart from other shooters. Even the minor characters are given depth that makes them more than targets. Of course, I did roll a few grenades into a roomfull of racial purists who were intent on wiping out a boarding school full of genetically enhanced children. Four major factions and various subgroups, double agents, (triple agents?) make it a very interesting game. Has anyone played Invisible War? Finished it? Please, no spoilers.
