[temporary threadjack] Talking of honours, som o you may remember I lost a friend and colleague just before Christmas (was with him when he collapsed). The regional Local Government groups have named an award for him. There's a series of awards, but the others are all just stuff like: 'People Management: Award for people development and learning' stuff like that. There's different ones all sponsored by different organisations (like Unison, or the Envrionment Agency, The Arts Council etc). None of them are named after anyone, except this one. And it's sponsored by the IDeA who organise training for councillors nationally, in recognition for the work he did in promoting the need for good training and persuading authorities to try innovative approaches at a local and regional level.
