I have nothing to say about that.

Gravdigr 10-22-2019 05:09 PM

WTF was he trying to do? Besides tear the bed off the truck.

Unload the rebar without resorting to manual handling.

It could be said that he was entirely successful in that respect. :)

Gravdigr 10-22-2019 05:23 PM

Oh.

I thank you.

MIT made an army of tiny, 'virtually indestructible' cheetah robots that can backflip and even play with a soccer ball — see them in action in this new video

Gravdigr 11-11-2019 10:17 AM

That stomping in place thing is just creepy as hell.

Undertoad 11-11-2019 10:53 AM

They're so cute at this age! They haven't even grown their lasers yet.

Diaphone Jim 11-11-2019 11:19 AM

They haven't grown heads yet, either. That's what's creepy.

Luce 11-11-2019 11:42 AM

Yeah, this is what I see.

Gravdigr 11-11-2019 12:39 PM

Seems legit.

"I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that."

Diaphone Jim 11-11-2019 02:55 PM

I had three asshole dogs (real ones) chasing my cows yesterday. That is kind of what it felt like.
No real damage and they were gone by the time I overcame my firearm safety system.

Carruthers 11-12-2019 05:44 AM

Watching this brings me out in a cold sweat.

Mounting a transmitter antenna on the Midhurst TV mast in West Sussex.

The top of the mast is 376' agl (983' asl) so it probably gets a bit draughty up there even without the helicopter.

I wonder how they removed the old system?

Anyway, sooner you than me gentlemen.

Griff 11-12-2019 07:07 AM

And now I'm afraid. Welp at least we can mail order ammo in PA, which will be delivered by, the robots.

All those guys are securely tied to the tower so neither the wind nor chopper will blow them off. Even if the chopper screws up and crushes them.

Of course there's the little matter of getting up there and down again.

glatt 11-12-2019 01:55 PM

They should all have been wearing hearing protection.

And it would have been nice if the ground crew wiped the water off that antenna before it got lifter by the chopper.

xoxoxoBruce 11-23-2019 12:33 AM

Wanna dance?

BigV 11-24-2019 10:19 AM

that was a lot of fun, thanks!

Gravdigr 11-25-2019 06:53 PM

Hmm...Wonder if the LiveLeak tags work?

Maybe...Here's a link in case they didn't work for you:

Got their propane tank filled earlier that day.

xoxoxoBruce 11-25-2019 11:03 PM

I don't see any flames in the video.

Griff 11-26-2019 06:21 AM

Yikes!

Flames?

xoxoxoBruce 11-26-2019 08:35 PM

Right, there didn't seem to be a fire visible after the explosion.

Gravdigr 11-27-2019 11:28 AM

Musta been fake news then.

xoxoxoBruce 11-27-2019 10:15 PM

It either blew itself out or there wasn't a big gas supply after the boom. The article said the two were burned pretty badly.

xoxoxoBruce 11-30-2019 02:18 PM

This guy is a little long winded but the tick stick is very clever.
No, not those nasty blood sucking ticks.

glatt 11-30-2019 03:20 PM

I have enjoyed many a See Jane Drill video over the years. She aims them at beginners for the most part, but she is so thorough that I often learn some new technique. This one is no exception. She’s fantastic. The embodiment of everything I hoped the internet would be. Sharing knowledge in an accessible way.

xoxoxoBruce 11-30-2019 09:45 PM

Hadn't been aware of See Jane Drill, is there a Jane or is it just somebody's handle?

glatt 12-01-2019 05:13 AM

I never really understood that. The woman's name is Leah, but the channel is called See Jane Drill. I think it's a play on those old kids' books. A woman talking about home repair, etc.

Clodfobble 12-01-2019 01:58 PM

Absolutely. "See Jane ______" is a whole trope.

Sweden has a lot of trees and a lot of cold, clearing trees is hard work so playing on frozen lakes is popular...

Willya look at all those monkeys!

My Dad, not known for his sense of humor, told me a joke one day. It was funny, I larfed, but now it seems like the seed of a life lesson, just now breaking through the husk, having germinated, lo, these many years. Watching that video, I feel tired of being the man... I can hear the call of the monkeys, despite no germinating grandchildren.

A video that you don't expect. Suitable for work or school.

That's pretty cool.

Nicolas Deveaux makes some very entertaining ads and other videos.
His diving giraffes made serious rounds a few years ago.

Thank you, I wonder why it was locked at your other link?
I never noticed Giraffes walk like pacers.

Gravdigr 01-09-2020 11:20 AM

I never knew they were such good divers.

xoxoxoBruce 02-01-2020 08:51 AM

Wacky Russian builds a Tesla truck look alike and takes it out in the snow.

BigV 02-04-2020 06:45 PM

Cosplay with trucks!

Gravdigr 02-16-2020 05:26 AM

Linky, if the LiveLeak tags no worky,

Griff 02-16-2020 07:51 AM

I didn't really expect them to quit before someone got mangled.

Gravdigr 02-16-2020 08:29 AM

Did the tags work, or did you have to use the link?

Griff 02-16-2020 02:24 PM

I clicked the player.

Gravdigr 02-18-2020 08:07 AM

Wasn't sure if they (the embed tags) worked.

We had some trouble and discussion about that a while back.

xoxoxoBruce 02-23-2020 08:15 AM

Building architectural models in China.

Diaphone Jim 02-23-2020 11:55 AM

That is a trip, including an apartment building where every unit has its own pool!

xoxoxoBruce 03-03-2020 01:45 AM

I've seen "sand art" before but nothing like this...

Gravdigr 03-03-2020 07:42 PM

I'm impressed.

xoxoxoBruce 03-06-2020 10:14 PM

In the early '50s Ma Bell was installing these switches so you could dial direct without an operator.
The switches were $2 million each and would handle 20,000 lines, or $100 per line.
At that time they were only charging $4 or $5 a month(plus long distance) but they could get rid of a lot of operators.
I'd play it on double speed. ;)
