Ibby 06-16-2006 10:59 AM

Showbiz is a much better album than Absolution, though I've outgrown my Muse phase. They're okay, but some of their songs are on the whiney side. Maybe the new album'll be better.

Nah, Aja isn't their best by a good ways. Bodhisattva or Kid Charlemagne, I would say, is my favorite. Or maybe Home at Last.

Shawnee123 06-16-2006 01:42 PM

Love Bodhisattva. I've always been partial to Black Cow, myself.
I loved Donald Fagen's The Nightfly when it came out, too. I hear Fagan and Michael McDonald are touring together this year.

Undertoad 06-23-2006 10:02 AM

cableguy, what do you think of what griff said 8 posts ago?

cableguy 06-23-2006 10:12 AM

He said carefull with the sales pitch - I'm not selling a thing, I'm just sharing what I'm playing on the station. There are no ads, I don't make any money by dj'ing, and nobody is forced to tune in. The link doesn't take anybody to any websites..........yada yada
So how can that be called a sales pitch?

Undertoad 06-23-2006 10:21 AM

Shrug. It really feels pitchy with all these identical messages, is all. Didn't know you don't make anything from it.

Shawnee123 06-23-2006 10:27 AM

It is a nice blend of tunes, cableguy.

cableguy 06-23-2006 10:49 AM

Thanks for the support - when I was 13, I started collecting music. When Iwas 17 I started doing gigs at my high school, then started a dj service in college, made afew bucks. Got married, stopped dj'ing - didn't like coming home at 3am on Saturday smelling of smoke, then had kids, sold all the dj gear, but never lost the love of music. Now, in April, I came accross an opportuity from a buddy to set-up an internet radio station, so it didn't cost me a penny, and I get to spin tunes again! Needless to say, if I had to set-up and pay for server, etc, I'd have to get advertisers, and plug away, but not on forum boards. That's way too underhanded. ;)

UT, if I was playing the same artists and the same tunes all the time, then yes, al the messgaes are identical. But, they ain't ;)

Undertoad 06-23-2006 10:58 AM

It's cool, post away. You understand, it's my job to check.

cableguy 06-23-2006 11:08 AM

Can I put the link back in my sig? Bruce asked to have it removed............

Griff 06-23-2006 11:35 AM

I didn't want to be a prick CG. I just want to make sure we're all using the cellar as intended. No foul, play on.

cableguy 06-23-2006 11:48 AM

No worries :D

xoxoxoBruce 06-23-2006 12:50 PM

Bah, I can't get it to work, probably because I'm an idiot.
When I click on the link, MusicMatch opens but won't play anything. I've been through the MusicMatch settings and the Winamp setting trying to come up with the right settings but it doesn't want to cooperate.

Music Match is a pain, got rid of that off the system a while ago, resource hog too
I've been using Media Monkey since, it's quite good.

xoxoxoBruce 06-23-2006 01:13 PM

Yeah, I've got to dump it too. I've got the sucker completely blocked from the internet because it was running off to chat with this place or that, every time I turned my back.

I've got it working in Mediaplayer, now.
OMG, it's that rock & roll stuff the beatniks listen to.;)
