Man, *that* is the kind of thing that just makes you feel good to be alive in such an astounding world. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

I was mauling about on Google Video and came across some clips from Olivier's Hamlet. I remember, so clearly, watching it for the first time. I was about 11 or 12 years old and it came on late one night. I watched it on the little Black and white portable TV in my bedroom. My older brother had been reading some Shakespeare (MacBeth I think) so I was already curious.

I fell absolutely in love with the play and it remains my favorite of Shakespeare's works. I spent my Birthday book-tokens on a copy of the Complete Works of Shakespeare and was well and truly hooked.

Olivier's Hamlet still gives me a slight shiver. It whips me back to that night in an instant and I can recall the moody glamour of the character, as I watched. What I love about Hamlet, is that in many ways, he is more the anti-hero than the hero.

Anyway, enough rambling, here's the 'Get thee to a Nunnery' scene: apologies for the branding across the screen, it was the only version I could find.

Live olympics video feed.

Just watched Yao Ming (the human flagpole) carrying in the Chinese flag ahead of a tide of red blazers representing the Chinese team.

I can't play that on this PC, but I did watch it live on TV.
Did you see the kid? He was a class monitor during the earthquake and not only led his class out but returned to help other trapped children.

I can't play it either.

The University of Maryland built a 10-20 ton replica of the spinning earth to measure magnetic fields.

The result looks and sounds like something from a 1930's sci-fi movie.
