Here I am gussied up in my Blues. An interesting bit for the history buffs, the pants are a lighter color than the coat because back in the old days when we rode around on horse back the soldiers would take off their coats, roll them up and put them behind their saddle or in their saddle bag. Their pants would bleach in the sunlight. We honor our past history in many ways in the Army and this is a small one.

the women go crazy for a sharp dressed man...

BigV 03-15-2013 08:46 PM

Looking seriously sharp joe.

Nice Joe, and that bit of trivia was really interesting. :)

What was the occasion (DA photos were in class "A" s last I heard)? Dining in perhaps? Are those foreign wings I see (mine are French)? Are miniatures still optional on Blues? Inquiring minds want to know.

I know, I saw the pants and my first thought was "Oops, someone put bleach in the color load."

Years ago I was working with an engineer who was up for PA Sergeant Major. He had a copy of the photograph he'd submitted, of him in his best bib & tucker, on his desk. I remember him fretting for three straight days that he'd missed something, a crooked medal, a loose thread, ribbon out of place, anything. :haha:

Big Sarge 03-16-2013 08:22 PM

looking sharp msg!!! quite the rack of ribbons. extremely impressive. were you on the army's shooting team at one point? 18+ years of service?

Thanks guys. Just a regular ole Company inspection. Missed payday inspection so we did one last friday. Need to make sure the guys all have their uniforms straight. Those are Chilean Jump Wings Sexobon. I couldn't understand thing that Jump Master Said, I just did the right thing at the right time. The Army Service Uniform (ASU), what I am wearing in this pic, is replacing the Green Class A Uniform. The great big stripes that used to be on the Blue Uniform are gone. Lower enlisted guys wear the light blue trousers without a gold stripe. Miniatures are authorized, but as you know not for an inspection, just for wear with a bow tie at special events. I did have a gig that no one else caught, I am supposed to have one more service stripe, I went over 21 last July. And yes I did spend one season with the Army Rifle Team Big Sarge. You have a good eye.

Joe, I'm sure you're a first class solder, but man, you just don't look like a killer. Guess it's because you don't have your war face on. :haha:

Just kidding you, Sir, I know winning is about being smart, not fierce these days. Oh, and thanks for covering my ass for the last 21+ years.
