What were you doing there at that hour? You know Bigfoot is hungry after the lean winter pickings.

Otherwise, nice pic Jinx.

Bullitt 04-26-2010 11:20 PM

Very nice Jinx, I like how the focal point is off center but right on the pickups where your eye naturally moves to.
Reminds me of this photo I took awhile back:

great action pic!

Bullitt 04-27-2010 01:02 AM

Thanks Merc. I was trying not to use the flash since I was so close to the guys playing, ended up working out for me pretty well.

First picture I took of my son, Liam. Funny thing is, I dragged a big ass medium format camera into the L&D to take this.

TheMercenary 04-29-2010 07:14 PM

Heh. My son's name is Liam as well.

Shawnee123 05-03-2010 09:51 AM

My mom loves Chihuly!

That's a nice pic, impress!

impress 05-03-2010 11:02 AM

I adore Chihuly. He's an American treasure, IMHFO.

HungLikeJesus 05-03-2010 10:07 PM

Chihuly? Isn't that a Mexican hot sauce?

Shawnee123 05-04-2010 07:57 AM

You're thinking of Chihuahualy. They put that on hot dogs.

You know about that?

dmg1969 05-05-2010 11:52 AM

I do some amateur photography. I mostly stick to structures. My real love is photographing abandoned, run-down buildings in black and white. Here are a few I took of a run-down one room schoolhouse in the county I live in.

nice pics, Impress, that first one looks like an oil painting

skysidhe 05-10-2010 12:20 AM

Those are very neat! Of course I love that flower and bullitt that shot is amazing.

I've taken a couple in the last week or so but am either too lazy or too busy to upload them.

One is a shadow pic of my cats and ornamental grass. I hope it is as cool on the screen as it appears on the camera display.

Calla lily (first pic) & wild marshallow. The calla lily was my first choice for the Treasure Hunt. The flash washed out the top of the wild marshmallow, but, I like how it made the interior of the bloom stand out.

A couple of also-rans for my "worn" shot.

Gravdigr 05-13-2010 04:27 PM

Lovin' the stair shot.

How many times have how many people put how many feet in almost the exact same spots to create that particular wear pattern? (I love shit like that!)

xoxoxoBruce 05-13-2010 07:44 PM

The stair shot is outstanding, I love it.
And the first one... get the hell off my lawn, ya damn whippersnappers. :haha:

glatt 05-13-2010 08:43 PM

The stairs have an interesting history. The building was built to serve as a hospital for vets after the Civil War, and the stair treads were built with a slight downward slope so they could be easily washed and the water would drain.

It's a very impressive building. Ornate.

Yeah, that's what I liked too.... almost makes me wanna get a big ass mural airbrushed on there... some elk and waterfall... maybe some naked chicks and a confederate flag or something... tasteful y'know.

Another worn reject. This one would have made a better entry, but I didn't think I'd make it out to the old C&O Canal this week.

Tow rope marks in the stone around an old canal lock. And a nice crop of poison ivy.

I picked up a cheap 100/200/300x microscope with a digital camera module included.

Here are my first pictures of a dried flower and some pollen.

I am not happy about the bluish 'dead zone' in the middle of the slide. It appears that the center of the built in LED is focused on the center of the slide.

The included software did not run on Windows 7. I used Irfanview and TWAIN to take the pictures.

Gravdigr 05-17-2010 12:58 AM
