In other words, all of the United States must permanently remain on Standard Time, with "Saving" time outlawed forever.

Can't do that, the lower 48 has 4 time zones. The Sun would be straight up at noon in only one spot in each time zone.
So the referendum would have to be written differently, or create a bunch of new time zones which I don't think is a viable idea.

You and I know what you wrote means in spirit, most people would, but somebody with money and a lawyer could hammer that amendment to death in the courts.

It's pretty fucked up the way the time zones are laid out anyway.
Pacific plus Central stretch coast to coast? :rollanim:

Blame the railroads.

Clodfobble 03-14-2019 01:15 PM

I dunno where that time zone map came from, but Florida is definitely on Eastern time.

xoxoxoBruce 03-14-2019 01:36 PM

That's what I thought, when Google Search threw this at me I was surprised.
Also the Pacific time stretching all the way to Texas under the Mountain Time.

Burnt the toast.

Burnt the bacon.

Eggs are greasy.

Gravdigr 03-14-2019 01:50 PM

I'm about to smoke the biggest fucking joint.

Unless I fuck that up, too.

I'd much rather have spent the six hours that I didn't have to spare today which I have had to spend grappling with power supply/distribution/supply companies (yes, I got passed back between the two of them), wierd document formatting fails from my specialist software, laptop failure (Mr Limey's), failure to find printer (in the ether), birth certificate, marriage certificate (physical copies, ultimately found we've just moved house fer chrissake) dealing with the pile of unattended junk from moving. But I didn't have time.

Gravdigr 04-02-2019 01:22 PM

That does sound like a full day.

Hope it gets better for ya.:comfort:

I think about that every time some outfit tells me they can supply electricity cheaper than PECO(Philadelphia Electric Company). PECO still has to deliver that juice to my house, so if there's a problem I only have to deal with one company. No buck passing, not even division shuffling.

Power companies are like the peace of God.

They passeth all understanding.

They also move in mysterious ways.

Anyhoo we have a nice shiny new meter now and the heating will eventually kick back in tonight (storage heaters).

So you didn't get excuses blaming the other guy, that's good. It's much better to only have to complain once.

What are these storage heaters of which you speak? I would guess they use off peak surplus to heat something, maybe water, to draw heat off during peak hours.

Gravdigr 04-04-2019 12:02 PM

Heaters she had in storage?

Temporary space heaters, maybe?
