At first I wondered why they're not using the upper part of the rocket to apply the corrective forces. Then I was reminded of the feeling I had when I balanced a broom on a fingertip. You've done that, yeah? You just keep moving the point of support a little tiny bit beyond the center of gravity, and the broom tips back to the center.
The Segway does the same thing, but in only one axis. |
I wonder how far it is flying horizontally? I understand it landed at a different pad, and those pads are miles apart.
