An icehole, then? ;)

Gravdigr 06-07-2010 03:47 PM

10 points for being quickest on the draw...

Shawnee123 06-07-2010 03:48 PM

I'd like to thank the Academy...

Gravdigr 06-18-2010 02:09 PM

This one won't last long (in fact, it may have been done before). I don't have the bigger pic to go with it, so you'll have to take my word for what it is, if no one gets it (but someone will). Anyway...

What is this?

Flint 06-18-2010 02:25 PM

The camera on your phone.

Shawnee123 06-18-2010 02:29 PM

Your icehole.

GunMaster357 06-19-2010 06:48 AM

A telescope, more precisely a shot of the mirror

Gravdigr 06-20-2010 12:31 PM

Dingdingding! We have a winner! The mirror at the bottom of a three inch reflector telescope.

A shiny gold star and what's behind curtain number 2 for anyone that can guess what this is :D

wolf 08-17-2010 10:20 PM

It's either herbs drying on regular, old coathooks, or spare foliage for The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill segment from Creepshow.

jinx 08-17-2010 10:22 PM

Thyme?

squirell nutkin 08-17-2010 10:22 PM

xoxoxoBruce 08-18-2010 12:44 AM

Looks like Alfalfa.

classicman 08-18-2010 11:52 AM

Heather? I can't really see the tops of the plants.

Nirvana 08-18-2010 02:26 PM

Mentha piperita

First to guess was Squirell YAY! so here is your gold star and this is what's behind curtain number 2 link ;)

Gravdigr 08-18-2010 04:40 PM

Did Clodfobble's Brain know what was behind Curtain Number 2?

Yeah, if it looks like any of the Li'l Rascals, it'd be Buckwheat.

More of a Where Is It.

1 Attachment(s)
This is a scan of a pic that was under the clear plastic of an old Evertone phone dialer.
I just thought it was kinda cool and wondered where it was, or might be if it's even a real scene.
The original is very low rez and this is blown up considerably, but I think it might be from a famous painting.
Any ideas?

xoxoxoBruce 09-14-2010 12:25 PM

Sure, that's the castle upstairs, over the Cellar. :haha:

Trilby 09-14-2010 12:45 PM

Looks like a castle from a German fairy tale - or the castle from Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang????

Gravdigr 09-15-2010 05:14 PM

Is it the place that was in the "first ever photograph"?

xoxoxoBruce 09-15-2010 10:24 PM

No, that was a cityscape, no castle.

Undertoad 10-16-2010 02:27 PM

What is this? It's on a 3"x5" card:

One of those insects that looks like a leaf with nitrogen deficiency.

xoxoxoBruce 10-16-2010 03:13 PM

Funky toenail.

Gravdigr 10-16-2010 03:13 PM

A scale from a tiny green dragon?

Holly leaf?

glatt 10-16-2010 03:52 PM

something turtle related. One of those segments of the shell. Like a soccer ball segment.

footfootfoot 10-16-2010 03:59 PM

It does have a toothular® appearance.

Undertoad 10-16-2010 04:14 PM

glatt correct!

http://cellar.org/2010/thingie3.jpg

The turtle's shell consists of these what they call "scutes", which shed away one piece at a time.

glatt 10-16-2010 04:27 PM

sweet!

glatt 10-16-2010 04:29 PM

So is it OK that it's shedding, or is that some kind of disease or something?

Undertoad 10-16-2010 09:32 PM

Totally normal, it's like a snake shedding, except that the turtle doesn't need to shed everything at once. Once the scutes come loose, it means the shell underneath is hardened and ready to protect. This one was partly green only because algae grew on it.

Bruce got it :eyebrow: I guess it wasn't that hard or I am just a post whore and wanted to post my photo ;)

xoxoxoBruce 10-25-2010 06:33 PM

It's a nice picture. I almost went with a porch light and flora, but flipped a coin in my head and got lucky.

HungLikeJesus 10-25-2010 09:14 PM

HungLikeJesus 10-26-2010 08:23 PM

Aren't they all?

Gravdigr 10-27-2010 03:27 AM

Only for the twenty minutes after they were just emptied.
