This may be the most beautiful thing I've seen in weeks.

A java spirograph

http://www.wordsmith.org/~anu/java/spirograph.html

It's cute, tho it's not as fun as the real thing.

Rusty Humpries

Parody songs that apparently get a lot of play on talk radio.

The games are VERY silly, but worth the time. I recommend War on Terrorism II.

Funny stuff. There's a video for Bomb Iraq which is not linked off the main page (you have to go to "Rusty's Report" which is kind of a hassle, so that's why I've linked it here.

My Wacko-Meter score is 79.2 (I think I scored so low because I think Hillary's Mustache looks good on her)

One to check on from time to time

The 5k is a site showing the winners of a contest where you must design a web page with under 5k of data/code.

With code being as bloated as it is these days, its interesting to see how creative people can be when they have to fit something into a box that's too small.

Smile, Daddy-O

Smile, Angel-head
like the hipster got
your ever-loving espresso
and is dealing a game of bridge
down the be-bopping
jazz club of Saturday night
with nothing
to lose
nothing
to gain
nothing
but pockets of soap
and a goofy pair of trousers
full of privilege
my fate done
left me
my baby done
took a job
and all I got
is this crazy
house of two stories
with Miles on the juke
and bongos made of hipster laughter
and a place where I belong
if I could only swing it

Oh, I don't know....they are kind of cute..looking like little cement toadstools in your backyard....

But I have a hard time trying to buy the fact that I NEED one of these buggers when there are grammar errors all through the text.

Time for us to bug out...

The group Evolution Control Committee has a freely downloadable song on their website called Rocked By Rape.

It's a remix of AC/DC's back in black, but the lyrics are a huge compilation of Dan Rather reporting doom-and-gloom news. Man, it's really hilarious. All samples of stuff he's said. It's a 4.2 meg mp3. Also, I had to rename the file before it would play, because of all the %20's in the filename. Check it out!

Incidentally, CBS wasn't very happy when they heard this song. But ECC decided to ignore their cease-and-desist letter, and I guess CBS decided they wouldn't win in a court case, so they never sued.

My daughter (now 19) kept a copy of that in her library, so it's now on my machine too. She told me she finds it nostalgic, reminds her of dinner at our home with the news on when she was a small child in the 1980s.

Funny what can become nostaligia, I guess. :-)

very interesting method of browsing amazon.com. via metafilter, where the poster compared it to 'flipping through books on the shelf'. very cool.

There are some awesomely cool pictures on this site which are all available for sale.

The annoying anti-copy message on each image only slightly detracts from their coolness.

losingmyreligion.com has a series of interviews with christians by Darcy West that I found to be quite entertaining.
