Yay Sullage - good taste :)

Bri - they remind me of The Jayhawks. Now what was I watching the other day with someone from The Decemberists was on? Can't rememberist, but am glad to have heard them.

Not sure the music is all that great (although it's growing on me)
But some Dwellars might recognise a certain truck... and a certain fine man sitting in it...

GBH - UNIQUE (2010)

You're Not Unique You're just another runner
In the Big Time the sour grapes of summer
And you couldn't be any more dumber

You're Not Unique You're obsolete
You won't last a week so crawl back under
Crawl,Crawl,Crawl back under your stone

ZenGum 02-25-2011 08:02 PM

Here is Evil Eddie and his song about Queensland.

He did this last year as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to his home state, but with all the shit that went down this summer, this has become an unofficial disaster recovery anthem.

I love the chorus...

This thread just keeps getting better. I've just spent the past half hour listening to some of the recent postings.

I was pottering about on youtube looking for clips from Being Human (US) and came accross this gorgeous little music video someone's put together. The song is lovely (I Learned to Live Half Alive) and they basically tell the pilot story through the vid. It totally works as a music vid. There's a line in it that I just love: Who do you think you are, running round leaving scars?

Only thing you need to know is that the dark haired guy is a vampire trying not to give into a blood addiction, the tousle-haired, sweet looking chap is a werewolf, hiding from everybody he knows: together they are helping each other stay human. And the girl in the house, dressed all in grey is the ghost of their landlord's fiancee who died in the house.

The Ramones Rock And Roll Highschool, this should make everybody smile ha!

ZenGum 03-01-2011 02:25 AM

While he's here, here is a previous hit from Evil Eddie when he was with a group called Butterfingers. If you like the Aussie accent, this is for you. He gives the Aussie vocabulary a good work out, though, so it comes with a category five potty-mouth warning.

That Glory Glory Hallelujah is gorgeous!

I remember when I was growing up, my Dad had a bunch of really old records, and Glory Glory Hallelujah was one of them. Not that version, but I've always loved that song.

Sundae 03-05-2011 02:40 PM

Okay, here is some John Barrowman as leaven in the lump.
Oh, okay - I did enjoy the previous posts, but I have this stuck in my head recently.

If anyone out there has seen Wicked you will recognise the song.
And any Doctor Who viewers will understand the lyric change (done officially with permission).
And anyone who has seen JB live will testify that he is gorgeous and charismatic and can sing so you don't care if the world is ending.

Someone with a foot in all three camps, like me (and no, one of them is not a penis) will immediately grasp how awesome this is. The rest of y'all might maybe like it. An appreciation of musical theatre helps.

For non who/ Torchwood fans, the (unoffical) video shows Captain Jack Harkness with two different Doctors - Christopher "Leave Early" Ecclestone and David "Swoon" Tennant. The Doctor is a Time Lord and can travel through space and time and regenerate. Oddly, he always regenerates as English (DT's natural accent is Scottish) and given the length and breadth of time seems to spend an inordinate amount of it in a) quarries, b) Wales, c) London - especially at Christmas.

Jack kissed them both. Both then he's nomnisexual. And he can't die. hence the moody shots standing on buildings.

MOTORHEAD - Going To Brazil

DanaC 03-06-2011 08:12 AM

Hahah. Excellent Sundae.

One minor point though...just to be mildly pedantic...the Seventh Doctor (McCoy) had a Scottish accent.

Sundae 03-06-2011 09:39 AM

 But then he was merely a blip in time

Oh and of course you'd like the video (bloody well done, wasn't it?) because your favourite werewolf is about 5 minutes from getting some Captain Jack action at the end of it.... :)

DanaC 03-06-2011 09:54 AM

Oh yeah. Love me a bit of cute guy action lol.

Talking of which...how good does 'Christopher and his Kind' look? Matt Smith as Christopher Isherwood. Gonna be a belter.

DanaC 03-06-2011 09:56 AM

Talking of cute guys:

Time for some more Crashtones.

Only still shots, and daubed with the lyrics, but Sam Witwer is just ridiculously hot.

All the stills are of the same guy btw.

They are excellent. Here we go and Bats in the Belfry a nice cuts as well. I think they are the source of Lil'Griff's college band fantasy as they got together at Middlebury.

Momdigr walked behind me while I was watching Dana's Suuns video, and she glanced at the screen and said rather matter-of-factly: "That was a boob." She was right.
