A. I'm a fat guy.

B. You think I'm 50 years old and never been in a relationship?

Even if I hadn't, I still possess the powers of observation. I've seen relationships. I've even been in some.:lol2:

lumberjim 05-13-2017 05:18 PM

I overstand.

captainhook455 05-13-2017 09:02 PM

Number 2 wife is always better than number 1. If Johnny Carson was alive he would tell you all about it.
I finally got the pics. Looks like a nice spot to have a pipe.
Next to do is paint the exterior of the house.

I'd love to paint it. But it's a rental. If I make it look too good, they'll sell it and I'll have to move. And painting is a pain in the ass.

lumberjim 05-15-2017 01:11 AM

Nice looking once they open up a bit. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a856a4f76e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...57a4b9fbca.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8acf38d3c9.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3545cf50dd.jpg

Looks like a professional bed. Better make an offer on the place before you drive the price up anymore. :)

More manly activities happening this week. First of all, it's Amanda's birthday. She is 39. No, really.

2nd, I took this week as vacation. We are doing a 4 day ride in Northern PA. I'm using the speedometer app I got a few years ago. I never got into the trip meter functions before. Check this out :

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4be3f0dad9.jpg

lumberjim 05-15-2017 09:40 PM

No wonder my butt doesn't hurt. Almost 11 hours, but only 4 2/3 in the saddle. We stop a lot, I guess. We had a nice lunch and a couple beers in Milford, just after we crossed the river into PA. Shopped a little in the kayak/moccasin/outdoor gear shop next door. Rode into the sun on Rte 6 through Honesdale to tunkahannock. Staying at Shadowbrook Golf Resort tonight. Off to Wellsboro in the morning. Weee!

Google maps lies... I guess it assumed we took the fastest route when I didn't have service:

And, by the way, T Mobile is losing a customer as soon as I get home. We fucking never have service when we're on vacation.

About time you let the poor girl get a break from yard work.
Happy Birthday Amanda!! We all love you in spite of him. :D

Griff 05-16-2017 06:43 AM

Enjoy NEPA!

Then you drove right past the little church I'll be writing an obscenely large check to in about 5 months. (from my cousin's estate.)

lumberjim 05-16-2017 07:53 AM

Honesdale looked like it was nicer than it was a few years ago. Might have been my perspective from the saddle and the glorious spring weather..

glatt 05-16-2017 08:13 AM

Did you take the Route 6 highway that bypasses Carbondale and all those little towns in the valley, or did you take the old business RT 6 that goes right through them? I haven't been on that old business RT 6 in about a decade.

lumberjim 05-16-2017 08:36 AM

We took the bypass. At that point, it was 54° and we were losing daylight. I had really nice Carhartt jacket in my hands at that kayak shop. Decided to wait and order it from home. It was $118 in that store. Found it in Amazon for $220! Dammit. Going to call them and see if they can ship it to me.

lumberjim 05-17-2017 09:14 PM

Ricketts Glen. A LOT of hiking up stone steps. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f6e4b39a41.jpg

Looks like you got some sun, 90 degrees here. Glad you're having fun.

Griff 05-18-2017 06:39 AM

nois!

captainhook455 05-18-2017 08:06 AM

Good thing he didn't come this way. Hottest May I have seen since '89. My son and I have gone for a few evening rides. Forget a ride in the middle of the day.

I'd be that red, but from the steps!:p:

Rickett's Glen looks nice and cool.

lumberjim 05-18-2017 11:58 PM

Pretty sure I am approaching purple at this point. I put 70 spf on this morning, then 30 twice during the day. I'm emanating heat. You could toast smores.

Griff 05-19-2017 06:19 AM

Delicious!

captainhook455 05-19-2017 07:28 AM

I never get sunburn. First I apply coconut oil then banana oil then SPF 30. Then my hands are so slippery I can't get out the door. Another day without sunburn.[emoji1]

lumberjim 06-05-2017 05:30 AM

I'm waiting for Amanda to get ready to go to the airport, RFN.

First day of training for the new job takes place in ATL. She's so nerved out that I put feelers out for a few Xanax yesterday. For the flight. Got her 3. One each way and a spare. For free. It's not what you know...

Mission accomplished. Nice coat.

captainhook455 06-05-2017 10:36 AM

I don't know. Looks like you was going to blow someone in post #1109. What you do for Xanax? You should have called me. Get her some purple meskies or some peyote buttons or purple mushrooms out the cow pasture. The shrooms are good for you because she will want to lick you all over, then she will sleep after 2 hrs of licking.[emoji104]

lumberjim 06-05-2017 03:06 PM

Blow someone? I didn't Do anything for them other than go pick them up. Free. The person gave her 3. I asked, they gave. Free. You been watching too much TV or something?

captainhook455 06-05-2017 08:49 PM

It the saying you said. It not who you know it who you blow. It is nice to get stuff free. I get stuff in the mail all the time. Mebbe no more.

lumberjim 06-05-2017 09:19 PM

Oh. Never heard it twisted that way. I was referring back to an earlier post where I said, "It's who you know"

I finally bought that motorcycle lift I've been coveting.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...c72c0a07b8.jpg

Uncrated it yesterday. I had it propped up at one point to get the bottom of the crate out of the way, and as I turned to step away, it fell and got me right on the belt on my left hip. Like being hit by a baseball bat. Really grateful it actually hit my belt. If it had got me on top of the hip bone, I'd probably have needed assistance.

I had to drill holes to mount the wheel chock and eye loops for ratchet strap tie downs. After the first hole yielded a big mess of sharp metal shavings, I consulted my brain, and decided to use a magnetically charged washer to surround the hole.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f787e983cf.jpg
It collected the shavings as they came off the bit.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0147630055.jpg
Take it to the trash, remove the magnet, and then use it to collect the loose bits.

captainhook455 06-05-2017 10:52 PM

Well just stick with your old buddy Ed and I will teach you all the crap that you are too intelligent to think of. Kinda like what Bill Clinton said. " Oral is not immoral. " He could've said it.

Talking about bikes this is the new Yamaha touring bike. 117 ci. Holy shit. Direct competition with the Harley Ultra Glide and that other thing the Indian. You have to go to the dark side to get the particulars.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d312d3d967.jpg

lumberjim 06-05-2017 11:07 PM

113 ci. I watched the commercial on you tube. All the riders have grey hair. Like a viagara commercial.

captainhook455 06-06-2017 06:07 AM

Jim needs to dye his sideburns gray so he will fit in. He already has the gut.lol.

Gravdigr 06-06-2017 12:19 PM

Except for the cheap-ass Plexi wind deflectors, it's a pretty nice looking bike. I'd ride that like it was Hayden Panettiere.

And that's coming from the guy who usually says "If ya want a windshield, buy a car."

ETA: Those flat black bits around the lower parts of the bike (bag bottoms, driving light surrounds) should be body color, though.

doncha' think that'd take away from the "lunging" outline of color?

captainhook455 06-06-2017 08:33 PM

I'm thinking does it have radiators? I mean whats with the big scoops on the sides under the faring?

lumberjim 06-06-2017 09:40 PM

My guess is they copied the latest ultra glide, and put 2 tiny radiators in the lower fairings.

And grav, the black plastic bottoms of the bags are so you can set them on the ground when you unmount them. Maybe

Wrong again.

It's long. 67" wheel base. Mine is 63"

sexobon 06-06-2017 10:17 PM

I read that it also has an oil cooler between the front down tubes (as did a Kawasaki I once had).

captainhook455 06-07-2017 08:55 AM

Looks to me like the trunk and tour Pak are not that big. It doesn't even have whitewalls. Everyone knows that ww tires make the bike go faster.

You better buy that place quick.

lumberjim 06-11-2017 07:54 AM

My phone rang at 5:48 am today. It was this woman:

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5d7496b030.jpg

They flew in from Alaska to buy this Xterra. Now they're on their way back home. Cross country road trip vacation. Visiting family all along the way. Pretty cool. The kid's name is Phoenix. I hope he enjoys this trip. It's the one we all try to recreate with our kids when we grow up.

Really nice people. They miscalculated their arrival day though. They took off on the 10th and landed on the 11th. And they didn't know we were closed on Sunday. This all came to light yesterday as they boarded their flight. Fortunately, they had paid in full in advance. I volunteered to go give him his keys and take his picture for our book face wall. They were super appreciative and excited about their adventure. Nice.

lumberjim 06-11-2017 08:05 AM

Our BDC manager made this deal happen. She took extra pictures, I think she even used face time or snap chat to let them hear it run. It's an 08 with 65k on it. It was 11700. I'd say that must be a really good deal, but I think this purchase was subplot to the main objective. They also bought a trailer that is waiting in Chicago. He's from there originally. She came there for college and took him home with her and kept him.

zippyt 06-11-2017 08:14 AM

Cool

xoxoxoBruce 06-11-2017 09:50 AM

Alaskan women be tricksy. They lure innocent, unsuspecting men up north with tales of moose and Aurora Borealis. Then the poor guy has no choice but to acquiesce to her canal desires or freeze to death. Oh, the humanity.

I think you're right Jim, subplot.

captainhook455 06-11-2017 10:48 AM

I just woke up 55 minutes ago, but isn't $11,700 a lot for a 08?

glatt 06-11-2017 03:05 PM

That's cool. A grand adventure for them.

lumberjim 06-11-2017 07:40 PM

I'm pretty tired

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...14f441ada8.jpg

I forgot to take a picture with the ground prepared. Took most of the day to turn the dirt, extract all the root balls and grade the patch. Once that was done, I traced the perimeter with round up, sprinkled preen and put down the weed barrier. A thin layer of fine sand....

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...ef106aa660.jpg

And then start humping the pavers around and laying them down.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7cc4f4588b.jpg

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dedd3b7695.jpg

And I'm left with some pavers to cut.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8f34951686.jpg

xoxoxoBruce 06-11-2017 08:46 PM

Tell her if she works you to death before the ceremony she doesn't get the harley... even if it's self inflicted.

lumberjim 07-11-2017 07:01 PM

Yesterday was 7 years since jinx put me out.

SO, every cell in my body has been replaced since then. I no longer have dreams about being back with her, walking on egg shells and then waking up relieved. I don't think about her unless the kids are around. I didn't even remember the unniversary until a day late.

Guess I'm over her. Reckon I have been for a while now. But when I think about it, I still love her and hope she can find happiness. At least that she has let go of some of that anger.

Happy belated unniversary, Shelb.

sexobon 07-11-2017 08:48 PM

Must be some new kind of seven year itch.

Griff 07-12-2017 06:41 AM

Amanda is the Gold Bond of ladies.

Clodfobble 07-12-2017 04:12 PM

Seven years? My sense of time is just permanently wacked, I think.

xoxoxoBruce 07-12-2017 04:29 PM

I can dig it, my second divorce was protracted and bitter, from '88 to '95 before it was done. But I did and do love her, hoping she'll find her niche, but glad it's not with me.
