I'd guess that he's become someone's sugar daddy and eloped.

Otherwise I'd say that his O2 sat falls intermittently and if you've ever had altitude sickness; or, been through physiological training in a hypobaric chamber (comme moi), you know how that feels.

I assumed that he'd just had enough of what must have been a time consuming, fun idea at first, undertaking and instead wanted to allocate that time to a more in-depth study of human anatomy.
