Damn, I didn't even know butterflies used Crest.:smack:

I don't trust LJ's link. It say's that one of the derivate elements of my name is wolf. And I don't really want to go there.
|
My first name means 'lady' and my surname is Irish. It just means "son of ......."
The family motto is "Mullach Abu", which means Victory to the Clan. I like it. |
My name in its simplest form means "ruler of the people"...heh...
|
I'm too much of a bitzer to have *a* coat of arms, but my name originates from Greece and means "Helper and Defender of Mankind".
I did do my family tree a few years back and can chart back to a Horse Thief & Stowaway for my Australian roots, but also managed to go way way back to my English roots as well. |
Our name means "son of the scholar". We've traced our ancestry to either:
a) Scottish sheep thieves who ran away to Ireland, or b) Irish sheep thieves who ran away to Scotland. Our family crest should be a legless donkey, as in "...could talk the hind leg off a donkey..." |
My name is a derivative of a derivative of a name that comes from the Germanic meaning "spear rule."
Make your own jokes. |
My name is Flint. A stone which fractures at sharp angles, producing arrow-heads (my true namesake). Flint is a strong, sharp, and useful stone. Flint produces the spark to ignite a flame, to combust an incendiary, to facilitate the light to illuminate your path. My tartan is Welsh National. My eyes shoot daggers, my mind splits hairs, and my hands speak drum. I walk straight down the path of the unknown, tempting fate with every step I take. I fear not, because I know that I am Flint.

if you have, doesnt matter ill say it for the people that havent take apart the lighter making sure the flint and spring dont go flying away. then, get the flint and wrap the end of the spring around it. just enough to hold it without it falling. then get a different lighter (as your one is now dead) and heat the flint until it glows orange all over. then, throw it on the ground, make sure its a hard surface. it doesnt need too much force. then kick around any little bits still glowing. its like fireworks on the ground |

Sorry to burst your bubble Flint, but you know how you unconsciously picture what someone looks like in your mind's eye when you have never seen them? Well, I love watching documentaries about animals. You share your name with a baby chimp featured in one such documentary. But that's OK, cuz' I am partial to redheads...:D
You can picture me a little rodent in a lab coat, with a pipette in one paw, and a Kit Kat in the other. There are a few pics of me around here though if you're so inclined to look. EDIT: here's a link:http://www.janegoodall.org/chimp_cen...family/flo.asp I went to hear Jane Goodall speak, and got her autograph about 4 or 5 years ago. Very neat woman. |
I don't like knowing what people on a message board look like. To me, that defeats the whole purpose of the internet, which is to mitigate superficial qualities among people of various sectors of society, so that a widening perspective can be experienced by all. The physical qualities of people are irrelevant to me in this format, and distracting. I prefer what you look like in my head. If you think I'm a monkey, keep thinking that. I am a monkey.
