That's part of what I like about it.

One of the extra wonderful things about living in this historic distric are our low taxes (just over 1K/yr). I can look out my front door at townhouses that are just outdside the district paying $4K+. Everyone in the boro gets to pay $2 each for trashbags on top of it.
We won't be moving anytime soon...

I hear the trashbags issue is a really tough one sometimes.

The house next to us just went up for sale. The market has definitely slowed down, and the high prices are nutty. The asking price for the house next door, smaller than ours, is 3X+ what we paid in 1998. As is the trend in the neighborhood, houses are being bought and turned into rentals for the nearby University. Big $ for landlords, so our land is still a good investment.

But its like we can see the end to our time living here. We used to think we'd stay in this house for a long long time. But it has a seeable end, we'll probably last through 2010... Wonder what will be next?

Had a circling the toilet bowl discussion with my observing Prof today. He's moving to Maine to live among the hippie musician types. This from a Republican.

I think this will be on the market soon. ;)

I fully expect the median price of a home in California to drop by $100,000 or more.

Is this a crack at the neverland ranch or do you really think CA is that bloated?

warch 04-04-2006 03:40 PM

Hmmmmm. Recently toyed with in discussion: Chicago, Boston, Montreal, London....But I'm back in part time school again, so it would be a good 4 years. And there would probably be some combination of food-loving, non-hip musician types in the mix.

I cant see California- but I've learned to never say never (land)

PM me if you need any tips, Wolf. I believe my old spot on the San Miguel is still open, although it may be a bit brisk out there come November. ;)

I notice a LOT of "FOR SALE" and "FOR RENT" signs in the town I'll soon be leaving here on Colorado's Front Range. In what amounts to a three block area, there are two houses for sale, and 4 for rent. Unsual here.
