Prefered to take the pickup truck and back into the space. Couple lawn chairs and a birds eye view of the groping next door. ;)

We've still got three or four open drive ins here in the KC metro. We typically hit one a couple of times a year. Not too shabby on a nice night, especially now that they all have low power FM transmission of the soundtrack, so you get real good stereo fidelity over the car radio. No more shitty mono tinny ass window speakers to deal with...unless you want to.

The last actual drive-in movie place I saw was in the early 90s and that's because it was scheduled for destruction. The last one I actually went to was late 80s.

I went to one a couple years ago, in Alabama. They still exist, at least some places.

(Though I suppose that some of their rides might be feeling frisky with one another.)

Maybe they rode in on their dates?

That is a beautiful pic UT. I like the different ways the drivers are relaxing with them. It looks so much different than the pathetic existance of the circus or zoo elephant much more of a partnership.

That's gross. But at least nobody's making comments on how those elephants look like they'd be tasty rolled in bread crumbs and deep-fried.

Oops.

What better way to demonstrate the horrible consequences of alternating current than to roast a full-grown elephant?

Oooooh. Those things. I have some but I only vaguely recall what to do with them.

I enjoyed intermission. Remember the little ditty that would play while the screen showed popcorn overflowing a big box? 'Its intermission..la la la la dum dum dum de dum...'
I loved that part.

Great photo, by the way. Thank you.

capnhowdy 06-10-2006 09:31 PM

Nobody brought dates because there's no back seat.
