I totally thought I DID spend a lot of time around nerds! maybe it's coz when they're around ME they tend to be distracted...;)

Well, you should watch the movie anyway. The Fifth Element, with Milla Jovovich (appearing in the picture earlier) and Bruce Willis. A bunch of other famous people in other roles. It's a pretty fun science fiction movie. Action adventure. 7.2 out of 10 over at imdb.

Kitsune 08-04-2006 01:47 PM

It was, indeed, a really fun movie. IMDB's trivia on it is quite interesting!

The flying traffic created by the visual effects team at Digital Domain allowed artists to create personalized license plates. Though never visible in the film, the state slogan printed on all license plates reads, "New York, The Fuck-You State."

PS-by loving this movie, are my sons nerds?

Depends. Do they have the video game upon which that movie series is based?

Pangloss62 08-04-2006 02:41 PM

Jojovich

I have an ex from originally from Ukraine who truly looked a lot like that Milla woman in every way. And she had two kids! Others told her that too, so she went out and dyed her hair red. OMG as they say. She lived in NJ and I had moved to the ATL, so we kinda drifted apart. She's now married and living in Little Rock.

BTW, I didn't try out doing a #2 on one of those 100K toilets; maybe next week.:Flush:

they...they DO!

I've spawned nerds, haven't I? I worship at the alter of a 63 year-old Whale-Penis- Berkeleyman...I'm doomed. No one can save me now.*

*actual whale penis size will vary. you could, conceivalably, wind up with a three inch dick. If so, good luck.

Your boys will drive new cars and live in nice homes, it could be worse.

Clodfobble 08-04-2006 03:01 PM

It's okay Bri, you could have spawned many worse things than nerds. Be proud of yourself.

You could hire one well paid janitor or two poorly paid ones.
You call janitor making 50k a year underpaid!?!?! That's what most of my classmates will make after 6 years(4 undergrad, 2 for engineering management) of grueling coursework in the 4th toughest department in PA!! (Our engineering school was voted 4 hardest out of all standard programs in colleges and universitys). If any janitor managed to land a 50k job he should be doing backflips and singing showtunes on his way to work every day.

The janitors at my highschool averaged 35k a year plus basic medical I'm pretty sure.

I think you confused what I said. I said you could hire one well paid janitor for 55k or get two poorly paid janitors for 27.5K each. Your example of 35K matches what I'm saying perfectly.

edit: and I'm sure there are plenty of places where janitors make less than 27.5K.

Undertoad 08-04-2006 03:30 PM

The actual cost of hiring someone is greater than their salary by approximately a third, and I factored that into my numbers.

Clodfobble 08-04-2006 03:55 PM

If the whole interior of the thing got cleaned like a car wash, I'd be impressed. But just the inside of the toilet bowl? In two weeks it'll look just like every other public bathroom.

xoxoxoBruce 08-04-2006 10:22 PM

Not with the janitors hitting it twice a day and them being the focus of MARTA's attention for awhile. ;)
