Allrighty then,

Tonight Homegirl nearly blew a gasket about the state of the house. One of the first floor interior walls had to be removed because the plaster and lath was too far damaged to be salvaged or repaired. I pulled all the plaster and lath off and now we see the backside of the sheathing. Tomorrow they deliver the sheetrock and I'll cover up that wall. It's only 12x8, so that's only three sheets and a couple of seams. A LOT quicker than frigging around with plaster repair.

So anyway, she is stressing out because her semester starts in a few days and all her talk about having her entire semester's lesson plans formulated by June was just talk.

The whole reason for this dumbass project isn't because I need a hobby, it is because the state got up our nose about inchling's high lead levels, (which coincidentally went down to normal so fast the nurse said she'd never seen anything like it. Maybe we had a bad draw in the first place?)

So While I am removing the lead encrusted siding and windows, it makes sense to insulate the walls, right?

I'm also doing this on my days off from work and after work, and taking time off from work. Granted, she is doing more parenting, but I am participating as much as I'm able, and frequently throughout the day, inch and I spend a little time together and we have meals together.

There is still a shit load more work to do, windows, siding, trim (interior and exterior) paint, etc.

Now, she's completely off the program, as though it were something that we can just stop,

I'm just gonna end my rant in mid sentence 'cause I'm really too tired to focus on what I'm trying to say. But you can be sure I won't be going to that hotel again. If you get my drift. ;)

Well, why didn't you have her entire semester's lesson plans formulated by June? Shame on you. :p

Be careful, my friend. I've known more than one couple who split up over home remodeling projects.

Thanks dar512, I've been trying to keep my finger on the pulse of not so public opinion here at home.

Today, things are a little cooler since I got all the rock up in the office and in the master bathroom. First coat of mud is drying so progress is being made.

Also, we've found a new sitter who chills with the inch a few days a week for an hour of so, while SWMBO gets her lesson plans in order. Inch loves her even more than his previous flame, this one is very animated and actually plays with him. This takes the heat off mom and, by extension, me.

I will keep my nose clean in any case.

I think maybe the addition may have to wait another year...
