I've already got a wonderful Ibanez for the heavy stuff, so I'm good there...

Ibby 10-31-2006 02:07 PM

I've decided...

Fuck the guitar.

I'm keeping my money just in case the parents decide they dont want to send me home for christmas.

Jan. 7th is me and my girl's 2-year, and the tenth is her sweet sixteen, and I HAVE to be there for that.

rkzenrage 10-31-2006 02:21 PM

I wanna' Rick 300... but I can't play it...:sniff:

Undertoad 10-31-2006 02:54 PM

Sounds like you just had a bad case of the dreaded gas: Gear Aquisition Syndrome.

Ibby 10-31-2006 03:08 PM

oh, i've always had that, its just been the money ive been lacking.

Ibby 11-02-2006 07:30 PM

Yeah, I've decided on the Nashville Deluxe Power Telecaster. Now the question is whether to wait until after christmas... If I keep saving, I can probably get enough for a plane ticket to go home after christmas (cause my 2-year anniversary is jan. 7th, and her birthday is the tenth), just in case that isnt what i get for christmas.

If I DO get that for christmas, then I'll buy the tele.

Ibby 04-22-2007 06:13 AM

Well.

I ordered the tele through the local guitar shop - they said a wait of three months or so.

It's been five.

So fuck that bitch, I've decided I'm going for this baby:

...Well, not that one exactly. I'm going to get a DC135, S-S-H, with twinblades in place of single-coils, with that paint job, coil splitter for the humbucker, on/off switches instead of 5-way, and abalone inlays on a rosewood neck.

$980.50.

Niiice.

I'm also debating getting this colour instead:

Dude...how'd you get from a Tele to a Carvin? Not a lot in common, sonically.

Definitely get the purple, though. Looks like a great axe.

Undertoad 04-22-2007 02:30 PM

The purple will sound better, but the red will play faster.

Ibby 04-22-2007 02:49 PM

I got from Tele to Carvin cause my price range went up.

I've wanted a custom shop Carvin since before I ever got a guitar.

duck_duck 04-22-2007 02:56 PM

If I knew how to play a guitar I would want it to start smoking when I played it. :D

cowhead 04-22-2007 11:59 PM

carvins rock.. my fingers won't allow me to play on such a small neck tho... if you need an amp look into behringer, they make some solid equipment that is also geared towards the 'value conscious' among us, I have my marshall 1/2 stack, johnson combo and fender twin.. so I'm amp ready.. although what I really want is a mesa-boogie or an orange... or an older park.. well what I really want is a jcm 800 75 watt tube head..

hey mrnoodle! long time no see!

Ibby 04-24-2007 10:40 PM

DC135, with Tune-o-matic Bridge $ 779.00
Dunlop Straploks $ 7.50
coil splitter $ 10.00
pickup upgrade (to H22SD) $ 5.00
Twinblade pickups $ 10.00
Rosewood fingerboard $ 0.00
Crimson Red on Flamed Maple finish $ 120.00
Guitar Case (for shipping) $ 49.00
Engraved truss rod Cover (name) $10.00
Gold-plated hardware $30.00

That comes to $ 1040.49 with shipping... but I will get it.
[Wayne]Oh yes. It will be mine.[/Campbell]
