When my son was 2, he shoved a pistacio shell up his nose... far enough that I couldn't even see it clearly. It did not come out thru his mouth unfortunately, and we had to go to the er to have it removed. After several failed attempts with various medical equipment, the doc tried inserting an angio balloon up past the obstruction, blew it up, and tried to drag the shell out. The balloon *popped*. In my kids face.
It worked the second time.

Does the kid have a phobia about balloons now?

Dude can't believe he fell for the snake version of "Pull my finger".
