I always get duplicate checks. I write hard enough that I can still read the carbon paper, and since I write down the account number of whatever bill I am paying it is nice to be able to reference the account number when I write out my checks. Usually I write all my checks out when I get paid and just stick them in the bill envelope when I get home. But since I am meticulous with my checkbook there is never any worry that I will forget to write down a check. If I ever have problems balancing my checkbook (which I do every two weeks when I get paid) it is because I wrote something down that I actually paid cash for.

If only things were only this simple.
There are many, many, many people out there that shouldn't have checking accounts and yet they do. I wish there was something that would stop stupid people from having accounts. But we can't do that. Sigh. Oh well.

I love my debit card. It doesn't love me back, though.

I don't have a debit card. I expect that someday my bank will stop issuing traditional ATM cards and I'll have to figure out how to deal with that then, since I think debit cards are tools of the debbil.

I called and dumped on them, when they sent me a debit card and told me my MAC card would be no good after the first of the month.
They said OK, just cut up the debit card and use the old one.
That means they were lying to me the first time, trying to get me to go along with the program.
They'll learn. :D
