I was under the impression--though like you, glatt, only through pop culture references--that they were supposed to be pretty chaste kisses, perhaps even on-the-cheek only.

The values of society shift over time.

At first, you have kissing booths at the county fair. Eventually you get glory-hole facials on the internet. It's a natural progression.

times change. we used to give baskets of flowers to our neighbors and dance the maypole on May Day, too.
