It is or it was? Technology to avert this ‘threat’ has since been implemented throughout the world (at least until George Jr started making other nations distrust the US).
Nuclear Iran is now the world's #1 problem
Meanwhile, a least fear for nuclear proliferation is Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia has proven far more trustworthy than other less trusted nations such as Israel. Israel will not even sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty so that Israel can sell nuclear material to other nations. (Did we forget about South Africa? Oh. Israel is a trusted country - not Saudi Arabia.)
How ironic that one would fear nuclear power plants in Saudi Arabia when George Jr wants to give India uranium in direct violation of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Uranium so that India can make more nuclear bombs. We trust India but don't trust Saudi Arabia?
Unilaterally terminate a world treaty? Where does UT fear that? George Jr has unilaterally terminated treaties so often as to make 'world stability' treaties with the US arbitrary and capricious.
Bush praises "Austrian" troops at "OPEC" summit .
Just another reason why so many American allies are no longer so friendly. Clearly providing support to Israel and India is good even though both refuse to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty. When does the term double standard have meaning?
How did India use (Canadian) nuclear fuel to develop a nuclear bomb? HEU - as posted here over a year ago along with solutions to alieviate that threat. It was posted in The Cellar over a year ago.
