TNG is still the best Star Trek of them all.

I am laughing so hard at myself. I was in the bathroom and thought: HEY, 40 and 13 is 53! I think it was because I started out having to work out what a score is.

Anyway, yeah...2 score and 3 years.

Sorry Flint! Threadjack complete.

OK, 43 I'll buy, the 53 really did throw me though.

Back to the original idea. Glatt, I like both of the Star Treks depending on my mood. I like Kirk's macho desire to conquer the universe in a nice guy sort of way. I like Picard's more thoughtful desire to understand the universe. I really had hoped Enterprise, with Scott Bakula would do a better job of blending the two, but it never really grabbed an audience.

New ST movie next summer? I wonder what timeline they'll grab.

lookout123 07-31-2008 11:47 AM

It's after the original five year mission. Harold (harold and kumar) plays sulu.

I thought Voyager was stronger, although I never did see the final season. I haven't seen any of them in a long time but my impression is that up until the Borg conflict TNG never seemed willing to check its moral compass. It's probably because it is a positive government show that played when I had the least patience for that, philosophically. Anyway, the Borg conflict episodes did reveal the characters much more than the previous stuff. It was solid.

And don't forget about Q--putting humanity on trial.

ST:NG was the bestest!

Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra.

I loved TNG. But I also loved the much maligned DS9.

glatt 07-31-2008 02:20 PM

DS9 had its moments, but being parked in space limited the story lines. It lost steam after a season or two. I liked the characters.

We look for things. Things that make us go.

As I recall the borg does kill the mother ship of borgs by taking over the steering and driving it into the sun.
