Imagine that you're going for a job interview and you handled questions like this; just being human. In certain situations, being polished means you have done your homework and are prepared, with the information you need to do the job.

Myself, I like to cultivate a casual conversationalism, but it's peppered with white-hot information nuggets, which, if you know enough to catch on, reveal that I very deeply know what I'm talking about.

Being unpolished is nice--if you are, simultaneously, casually confident with some actual, useful information.

Sounds like my job interview. Sure, I was unpolished, but I knew what the eff I was talking about.

Hmm. Sarah Palin is human? And fallible like the rest of humanity? Whodathunkit? That being said, if you're going in for an interview on NATIONAL TELEVISION, would it not be wise to be prepared for ANY potential question? It's not so much I'm concerned about what she states is her policy... I'm more concerned that she has NO CLUE what she's talking about!

What's even more concerning is that she actually thought her original statement would be uncritically absorbed by a sponge-like population.

Palin is a symptom of a larger problem. Same problem had McCain quoting George Jr exactly, "Our economy is sound" - as AIG was going under. Same problem now could not decide to support the bailout or opposed it - as demonstrated by McCain's contradictory statements. Same problem even had him tell Letterman that he was hustling to Washington to save the negotiations when, instead he went on the CBS News and his puppy dog Palin visited Ground Zero. Letterman was incensed. And then the running to Washington only confused the bailout issue with partisan politics - even dragging Obama into a do nothing meeting.

McCain has a serious problem. Not Palin. He has advisers that could not even agree whether they were for the bailout before they were against it.

Like I said, get used to her.

I heard Letterman make that statement, and thought, if McCain had to suspend his campaign to attend to serious shit in Washington, why wasn't Palin there with him, to learn what was going on and how they solve these problems.

The other morning they were interviewing a bunch of MI hockey moms, who were gushing how they would vote for Palin because, "She's a hockey mom, just like us". Fucking airheads.

You sound surprised, and if you are surprised then I am surprised at you. Spend a little more time outside your circle of acquaintances and you'll be afraid to leave your house.

xoxoxoBruce 09-26-2008 12:42 PM

No, I'm not surprised, but I'll always be outraged by such stupidity.

"I'll try to find some examples of them and get those to ya"

#1. You do NOT make a statement about your presidential running mates' experience and background without being able to back it up.

#2. Sarah Palin is a complete moron and that is something that everything in all her appearences backs up without any doubt.

She is scary stupid and should not be allowed anywhere near Washington STATE, much less Washington DC!
