Thanks, Cice. I dunno, I've been hanging around for a year, you'd think I'd have had more to say by now. Maybe I have writer's block. I've got so damn much shit coming down in my life. Maybe I should post about that and bore you all with my woes. ;)

Maybe you should bore us with the contents of your mailbox. Anything interesting in there lately? :)

And yes, bore me with your woes......Whatever it is will probably more interesting than what's in the political thread. Now that's starting to really bore me.

I've been around for a while now, and I'm still pretty low too. Also keep in mind some of the eleventy-thousand-and-some post count people have been here for years and years, not hard to rack up a high count after that amount of time. :)

Treasenuak 10-16-2008 05:25 PM

Far as I know, I've yet to break a hundred...

Treasenuak 10-16-2008 05:26 PM

Whoops. Guess not. I haven't been keeping track :D

Simple. We don't have lives.

Browse through the members list at the top. You'll feel much better.

I wonder what percentage of people who have made enough posts* to feel reasonably established* have not left the cellar and are still reasonably active*.

*The precise definitions of these terms are also matters of interest.

I agree that post count is no indication of quality.
The only time I notice it - or the join date - is when someone writes something bout how much the Cellar has changed, or how great/ rubbish it's been recently.

Then it helps to know the poster's history.

I don't think anyone here really posts to add to their post count - apart from, as Cic said - as a joke.
Those that post in inconsequential threads do it because they (I) have inconsequential things to say. After insulting Cloud early on, I have come to love the Post Whore thread, so that I can post random thoughts without bothering people who aren't interested.

Foot's Nothingland thread spew recently irritated me. But only because I'd been away for four days and thanks to the celebrated Cellar thread drift I felt it necessary to read every one to check I wasn't missing anything. I wasn't. Anyway, that's died a death now.

The only other thing that sometimes bugs me is that I can't participate in Chat. And people seem to get to know eachother well there, share info and jokes and memes. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on a part of the Cellar. But that's probably just insecurity.

SamIAm - don't count posts. Just hang around another ten years :)

It is not the quantity of words, but the quality, that matters.

DanaC 10-18-2008 06:26 AM

SamIam....doesn't matter how many posts you have. You're clearly a known and liked Dwellar:P

Sundae: why can't you go in chat?

SamIam 10-23-2008 11:51 AM

Thanks, Dana! Heh! Thru working hard and making lots of trivial posts, I have now broken the 200 post mile marker! In another year, I'll be at 300. Wooo-eeee! ;)
