Yes honey... it was indeed an angry abrupt beep... does that tell you something? Yes the error box was red with black type.

Can I look in there and see if I can find said needle????

Morgi wants to bake a pink elephant she says "just a yummy yummy yummy pink Elefant"... ok...

Pooka 07-01-2009 01:35 PM

ohhh... how about... is there a way to tell what date the mystery files were either lost or created to shrink that haystack a bit?

Flint 07-01-2009 01:51 PM

I haven't figured out how to, or if it is possible to, get ZAR to filter "lost file" results by meta data such as the properties of creation/edit date etc.

And I have no idea what kind of error shows up in a red box. That's just weird. I wish I knew what the error was.

Pooka 07-01-2009 02:14 PM

I thought so too...

Morgi has settled for Honey Bunnies as Elephants are unavailible... talk about wtf????

Flint 07-01-2009 02:29 PM

ur job is 2 produce yummy pink elephant

What I think happened in which case is that there was some sort of low-level system error, and your file system didn't get a chance to "sync up". Run CHKDSK and let me know what happens.

Things may reappear.

In the titel of the error box it said "Rotate" the error itself read "some of the images could not be rotated. Access is denied. Please check access permission and ensure the file is not in use". the files was there for a while in thumbnail form, but pixilated unless you double clicked on it then said no preview availible. Then it disappeared.

Flint 07-17-2009 03:16 PM

It happened again...

Curiously, this time, the files were still listed in explorer, and still specified a file size, but no physical dimensions. They could not be opened with any image viewing software. I believe that Zoombrowser has simply reduced the photos to a meaningless pile of zeroes and ones.

This was a great suggestion, but unfortunately nothing turned up.

Given that you've had it happen a second time, I would now assume that Zoombrowser is not well written and I would find something else for organizing your photos.

Flint 07-17-2009 04:52 PM

Given that it happened one time I told her not to use Zoombrowser anymore. It doesn't actually do anything, anyway, that Windows doesn't do itself. Except ƒuck sh!t up and piss me off.

There's nothing wrong with the software that comes bundled with a digital camera. Or is there?
