Did you know that you can make your own laundry detergent for about 5 cents a wash? And use vinegar instead of softener?

I've done both - used to make the laundry soap all the time. Now I have to use up all the cleaning supplies that came with our water softener (came with "five years' worth" of the stuff, the salesman said) but when it's gone I'm going back to the DIY glop in a bucket.

I'll send you the recipe if anyone's interested. Of course it's all over teh webz.

It's getting so you can find anything. Except maybe the lyrics to "Mabel, I Love You Mabel."

Make your own bagpipe bag seasoning

It ain't detergent, but what the hell.
