I saw that Room is coming out and has a lot of Oscar buzz.
I liked the book, but have no desire to see the movie. It just feels more unpleasant and real than the book felt to me. The book felt like a thriller, and the movie seems like a traumatic thing. |
Crimson Peak was gorgeous, but sort of run-of-the-mill story-wise.

I alllllmost went to an IMAX showing of "Star Trek Into Darkness". $19/person nixed that idea. |
Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows part 2.

Bridge of Spies was pretty good.

Amy Adam's new movie, Arrival, was very good.
It's just about out of the theaters now. There was only one theater that still had it in our area, and they only had 10:40 AM and 10:40 PM showtimes. I liked it because it was original. Not a sequel, or a remake, or a comic book. Not too many of those these days. Space aliens come to Earth and not speaking their language, we try to figure out what their intentions are, with some factions viewing them as benevolent and some as a threat to be destroyed. Good stuff. |
Assassins Creed. Surprisingly, l enjoyed it.

Deadpool
Enjoyed is a pathetic understatement. |

Rogue One, with polo girl and "danger should be my middle name", we all enjoyed it, hockey boy saw it an wasn't so keen. I have overheard others who didn't like it, I think if you are a star wars nerd, it's good as it's background to the main story and you get all the little references. If you just go along to see a star wars movie it's not so good, the normal characters are not really featured, no light sabers (well maybe a bit)/

Same. With Ripley on Dec 23rd late show. It's a tradition
