I thought we should always save our receipts. Ever run out of toilet paper?

Didn't you read glatt's list?

Suggestions for limiting your exposure to BPA on receipts include:

* Minimize receipt collection by declining receipts at gas pumps, ATMs and other machines when possible.
* Store receipts separately in an envelope in a wallet or purse.
* Do not touch your anus or vagina with receipts.

I actually touch about 100 of those stupid thermal receipts when I'm on desk duty: we have a queuing system where the students take a number and hand it to us.

Wow. It's scary to think about that shit. Hell, just the other day I used a McDonald's receipt to snort my bump. Those bastards were poisoning me and I didn't even know it!

You can't go to McDonalds and not expect to receive poison.

You're working in some sort of space-time bubble? Which part of the stone age has your fax room landed in? Do you have another department which is typing out punch cards and using an impact printer on greenbar?

glatt 07-28-2010 01:36 PM

yeah, yeah, yeah. We do actually have a fax room. It doesn't get as much use as it did a decade ago, but it's still staffed by some dude. I'm not sure who exactly uses it. I haven't used it in a couple years. Faxes go to a server and are delivered electronically by e-mail, but the room's still there, full of fax machines.

And they're not plain paper fax machines?

The fungus among us: A new way of decomposing BPA-containing plastic

Quote:

Just as cooking helps people digest food, pretreating polycarbonate plastic — source of a huge environmental headache because of its bisphenol A (BPA) content — may be the key to disposing of the waste in an eco-friendly way, scientists have found. Their new study is in ACS' Biomacromolecules, a monthly journal.

Shawnee123 08-03-2010 10:52 AM

No, that's not it. Shit isn't typically that shade of blue.

Griff 08-03-2010 10:57 AM

Sky shit is.

Shawnee123 08-03-2010 11:00 AM

That is funny in way too many ways. I snorted out loud!

Flint 08-06-2010 05:29 PM

Didn't think to ask this before, but is the BPA only on the INK part of the receipt?

EDIT: No...these are THERMAL printers, right?
