Gaiman cowrote Good Omens with Terry Pratchett, if you're in the mood for apocalyptic comedy.

Most of his work is short stories, and there are many collections of his work.

Sandman TV Show? I agree with the article that it is unlikely to work.

This is good to know. I read it a while ago, liked it, but not enough to become a fan girl.

He got most of his fan girls from Sandman, which is IMHO his best work (it's a graphic novel, not a "real" novel).

But yeah, if you weren't a big fan of American Gods, and you're not much into comics, you may not be wowed by Sandman either.

I don't think American Gods was his best writing, but he's not really a novelist.
I love Coraline, Neverwhere and his short stories best.
Oh and Sandman of course, but you have to appreciate the comic book format before that will appeal to you.

No - I lie. My ex tried me on a number of comics before he scored with Sandman. I learned to appreciate the comic format because of Neil Gaiman's storytelling and the fact that his references chimed with mine.

There's something frothy about Gaiman's novels, which becomes gravitas as the story is either illustrated or shortened.
