I agree Flint. What never ceases to amaze me is that people really go in there and just pull the red or blue lever without regard for what they are actually doing.
People who just vote the "color" account for most of them, I am assuming. |
Yes, but. You think, right? I think. You know people who think.
Why are these "others," these mythical ignorant voters, not also capable of thought? |
In this case, my hunch is that they used their religiosity as their guide for this vote.

I was reading somewhere (can't find article now) that a majority of people voted based upon, after party, name recognition. "Ohh yeh I know that name" = vote. WTF?

Maybe voters in Delaware that voted for her knew her opponent was a bigger risk. If I could trade her for Chucky Schumer or Andrew Cuomo, I would.

I doubt it, I think they are part of the large segment of the population that don't have a clue what either candidate's qualifications or positions are. They seize on something they're comfortable with, be it party, religion, color, smile, a sound byte, slogan or whatever, and go with it. I know there were periods in my life, when I was real busy, I did that too.
Karl Rove figured out the majority of the voters are too fat & happy to be bothered to delve into it, and will respond to snappy slogans, heard often enough. |

A lot of people vote the social issue - abortion, gayness, onanism...witch craftery...what have you. |
Yes, but.

I am a white Christian heterosexual who doesn't believe in junk science like global warming, Darwinism, Socialism, or that Obama care won't have rationing.

We had a party in the UK called The Monster Raving Looney Party, lead by Screaming Lord Sutch. He often managed to retain his deposit (5% of the vote at the time).
He was seen as a showman, standing purely for shits and giggles. Voting for him was no different than spoiling your ballot paper. And he never said anything as near as crazy as O'Donnell. Did they really have no alternative? Honestly, I am pretty anti-Conservative. But I'd rather vote for David "double my salary via expenses" Lidington than someone like her. Are there no independents? |
