The same way a gay person can have straight sex, as many closeted gay people do. Heck, the same way straight people have straight sex with people who they don't love or lust after, for any number of reasons.

Sorry Grav...:p:

Really though, look at how Indiana is so different from Illinois and Ohio on that map. The same is true with the red state/blue state maps too.

Shawnee123 01-19-2011 09:13 AM

psssst, that's because it's a crap report/map.

Pico and ME 01-19-2011 09:17 AM

Yeah but it does correlate with conservative/moderate/liberal maps too, which makes sense when you are dealing with how people think about homosexuality.

Shawnee123 01-19-2011 09:24 AM

Yes, but the lines are never that drawn. You can't tell me that the second you cross a state border (or even a county border) that the social mores just change drastically. I realize the whole point is to illustrate the, um...point...but it's no better than a USA Today graphic. Graphics should illuminate, not be the story. And this one illuminates next to nothing we didn't already know, and barely illustrates that which we did already know, at that. In other words, OKCupid isn't the firecracker journalistic dynamo we might have originally thought.
