yeah, bullseye = lyme, no questions. Do not pass GO do not collect $200. Only about 50% of people get the bullseye, though. Lots of false negatives with the test as well.
Icky, yes but I'll take it over Ebola Zaire or Brown Recluse bites. |

Her bullseye was iffy. It could be a weird bruise but was close enough to order blood tests. No fever or other indicators as yet. The doc has identified 7 cases in the last 2 weeks.

It's very popular. All the kids are doing it apparently.

When life gives you Lyme disease, make lime juice. Then make yourself a vodka gimlet.

So guys get ticks on their plums and I got one on my boob. What must this tick have thought? Are you my Mommie?!
|
are you my Om Nom Nommie?

Are you feeling better, Foot?

Thanks Lola, The arthritis like stuff has gone and now I have intermittent splitting headaches and heart racing with near fainting spells. In other words,

Yup, I get how you're feeling (I haven't had Lyme disease but I did have some corking childhood illnesses). Get better soon and all that. And give any leftover vibes to Big Sarge, who is worrying my (and others) at the moment. |

I hate reading stuff like that. I'm outside all the time. Damn ticks.

The biggest problem is even if the Doc is sure you have it, getting a positive blood test for it is very difficult to get. Without a positive test they can't legally give you antibiotics long enough to defeat it.

I recently had a tick bite get infected and I was spiking fevers and such. I got myself to a doctor, had the Lyme tests (forget which two) and both came back negative. The doctor thought I might have accidentally left some mouth parts or the head inside when I removed it and that's how I got infected.
Two weeks of Amoxycillin and I feel normal again but will have to watch myself for a year or so for Lyme symptoms, just in case. Why do we have ticks again? I know flies and skeeters are food sources but what eats ticks? |
