I think it's partly luck. My bro was screwed badly on eBay in his first month of selling.
He's never been back.

I buy and sell at too low a level to be targeted by a deliberate scam.
I hope.

Just bought six books from eBay.
Two different sellers, two £5 inc P&P on three books. £10 all in.
Most charity chops charge £2.00-2.50 per book anyway, and you have a limited selection.
I got two books I've been looking for for a while, the second to last Stephen King and a book by Barry Humphries I wasn't aware of. The 6th was just a makeweight I admit.

Are you an eBay addict? - No. I can't afford to be addicted to anything.

Are you scared of eBay? - No, just cautious, as I tend to be about most things.

Do you buy and sell or just buy/just sell? - Used to sell quite a bit, now its about 50/50.

How often? - 5-6 times a year?

Do you pay attention to shipping costs? - Yes

Do you eBay when drunk/other other influences? - I don't avoid it when drunk.

If so, does this lead to stupid decisions? - Probably

Do you watch your "rating" like Lumberjim used to watch his post count? - No

Have you any eBay purchase regrets? - Yes...a guitar. It had been described honestly, but I simply wasn't smart enough to relate the description to the cause of what I thought was a cosmetic issue...it turned out to be a badly warped neck, rendering the instrument unplayable.

Do you ever buy things just because they are bargains, then found a need for them? - no

Do you browse or search for specific things? - Almost always.

Do you watch s&h costs and mentally include them in the price? - Yes, always.

What's you best bargain ever? - Nothing spectacular...cables and chargers for phones and such seem to be the best deals on Ebay.

What's your worst disaster ever? - The guitar above, and the fact that I recently sold about $600 worth of radio control airplane gear and only yielded about $75 out of it due to a massive miscalculation on my part over shipping.

What is your most "unusual" purchase on Ebay? - All my buys have been pretty mundane. I guess it was a MIDI arpeggiator for a synthesizer.

Do you buy used or new or both? - Both

Do you "subscribe" to particular vendors? - No

Do you use an automatic "sniper" to bid for you? - No

Do you use eBay as a price index for purchases elsewhere? - Sure

Thank you for your precision.

T'internet says:

Acronym Definition
S&H Shipping and Handling
S&H Safety & Health
S&H Starsky & Hutch
S&H Science and Health (Christian Science religion)
S&H Sample and Hold
S&H Spencer & Hill (DJ's)
S&H Sperry & Hutchinson (of S&H Green Stamps)
S&H Strachan & Henshaw (Bristol, UK engineering company)
S&H Strength & Honor
S&H Steelton & Highspire Railroad Company
Much as Starsky and Hutch appeals, I'll take Shipping and Handling please.
Which sounds pretty much like P&P (post and packing). And I do watch that, carefully.

Precision Schmision, I honestly had no idea what your problem/question was. So if you hadn't asked for feedback, I wouldn't have replied at all. But it wouldn't have been ignoring you. Yes, s&h = shipping & handling. I shouldn't have abbreviated in hindsight, but that given, of all the non-US people I'd expect to know it, you would have been right up there at the top of the list. Sun, I am dissapoint.

Honestly never come across it before.
But I'm becoming more bi-lingual every day :)
