Yeah, I've actually been using webtender.com for months, with mixed results (ha!). Most of the entries are just recipes with little or no comment attached, and the only way to find out if it's any good is to buy the stuff and make it. That's why I thought that some comments might be valuable, to get actual opinions rather than just trying them blind. I know that everyone's tastes are different, but some feedback is better than none.

That's what webtender needs, a per-drink comment system... oh wait, they can't... Amazon some how won a patent for the idea, despite the fact that newsgroups have been used for this purpose since before the internet was a twinkle in Al Gore's eye. Stupid US Patent Office...

BB King never sang no songs about Bombay Saphire.
True, but Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton have implied it. :)

Bartenders have used the "Old Mr Boston Bar Guide" for years. Evidently OMB puts out a great drink cookbook but their booze is crap. Cheap crap, but crap.

I have tried lots of different stuff over the years in the way of alcohol by way of experimentation. But I am now settled on three things:
  • beer (I like trying local microbrews, and I hate buying by the case because I like having a variety on hand)
  • single malt (like to try different ones, favorite so far is Balvenie)
  • martinis (I like Bombay Sapphire gin and Martini & Rossi extra dry vermouth
The sad thing is, I can get a hangover.. without drinking ANYTHING!!!! (I have a tendency to get dehydrated if I'm not careful and the symptoms of horrible headache and nausea are, to quote Douglas Adams, unpleasantly like being drunk.)
