26 must have been chosen specifically. It must be the interesting year to look at when it comes to marriage.

On my 26th birthday, in 1993, I was living with an unmarried partner. So I would have fallen into the group of about 5% of people in that category. But our wedding was 6 months later, so I transitioned to the married group when I was still 26. I guess my location would depend on when they took their poll.

I understand people are getting married later in life now. I wonder what a chart for 28 year olds would look like. Or 30.

Mr. Clod and I got married about 6 months after his 26th birthday, too. (I, being such an old-fashioned traditionalist :lol:, was 22.)
