Hey, could the Aussies here answer a question for me?
The US and UK have flags of red, white and blue, and in international sports competitions, their athletes tend to wear one or a combination of the mentioned colors. Australia's flag colors are also red, white and blue. Yet, I noticed that the Aussies wore mostly green and gold during the last Olympics. Are the latter Australia's official colors? |
we do often bear our flag: wave it or paint it on our face, but to wear the colours is a bit of a no,no.
Green and Gold are the colors of the Wattle tree, a truly symbolic Aussie native plant, so these are the colors we proudly display. there has been so much controversy over our flag its just easier i think to opt for the green and gold. Imagine if we were at the rugby wearing recreations in our garments of the flag - wouldn't we then practically just be supporting England anyay? :) |
