{getting homesick...hehe!}

Hey, isn't the National Aquarium around there somewhere? All those amazing fish, swimming around for three stories as I recall.

YEP! I will never forget when it opened, the then mayor, the Hon. William Donald Schaffer (Willie Don to his friends), sported a retro 1930's type full bodied swimsuit, a straw hat, a pair of flippers and jumped into the seal pool (IIRC). It was a hoot!!! Oh, and I almost forgot: he had a rubber ducky inner tube wrapped around his waist...gosh I wish I had a picture to show you! :haha:

Cool link! I adored that place. That's what I think about when I think about Baltimore. That and the great sea food. Yummm! Oh yeah, and that wonderful writer, Anne Tyler. Isn't she from Baltimore? I guess I'm just a provincial Westerner. Never thought too much about the crime rate. We've got enough hair-raising stories of our own right here in Colorado.

Not sure about Anne Tyler, but here's a site that names some famous Baltimore and MD natives. :)

OK, for all you trivia fans out there, I looked her up. She wasn't born in Baltimore, but lived there most of her adult life. Most of her novels are set in Baltimore (she wrote ACCIDENTAL TOURIST, among others).:)
