I'm not...banks nickel and dime you for everything these days. Not to mention, as a former bank teller, I can tell you that it would take quite a bit of time to run those pennies through a machine, bag them, and ship them off to the Federal Reserve Bank.

The story you posted doesn't say that the Mint won't take them. But I don't think you can walk into the one here in Philadelphia and exchange your coin...haven't been there yet, though.
