Technically you're supposed to shoot materiel with it, not people. Cars, APC's, buildings, etc. Not quite as much accuracy needed there.

As to how accurate it actually is? None of us here actually knows. One of you guys needs to buy one so we can find out.

We will need to find out several times.

TS, a barret50(M109?) can get about halfway though an engine block at around 1km if I remember correctly, at what point does it make sense to step up to a more...solid projectile delivery setup? I mean I know it's not uncommon to mount those on vehicles as it is.

Is there a relationship between barrel length and projectile size for accuracy?

Barrle length is related to accuracy as well as velocity. Velocity is also related to accuracy.

The 20mm is also able to deliver a payload as well. The .50 cal can't.

True. From the very scientific method of looking at that pic and remembering the proportions of a barret, the difference doesn't look proportional to the difference in munition size so it's safe to assume it's signifigantly less accurate.

Barrel length is related to accuracy but is the relationship between barrel length and projectile size related? I would have assumed so using Fuzzy Phyics(tm) but I almost flunked the subject last I took it so...

I'll have to disagree until you show me a little more, but if you look at the numbers the 14.5mm barrel has an extra 800 m of listed effective range.

The 50 cal can easily fire groups the size of an average man's hand at 1000yds with a reasonably skilled shooter. My guess would be that the first shot from the 20mm would have the same accuracy.

The second shot, on the other hand, would require another shooter unless it was to be fired after the recovery period of the original shooter.

Years ago I had an inert 20mm shell. It dwarfs the 50.

........blah, blah, blah, .........
