My boyfriend got me exactly what I asked for for Valentines Day--a replacement tail light for my car to fix the malfuntioning one I had. He installed it for me too! What can I say, I'm a practical kind of girl.:heart-on:

Oh, man...if only most women were as simple as a taillight repair.

Do you mean women are hard to buy presents for, or that they are complex in general?

Her choice likely had nothing to do with the actual token of affection, but the person giving the token.

The BF and I continued our tradition of inviting a bloke to join us (but not in the Elf way!)
Last year it was a friend of his, whom he'd invited to stay (if you please!) because of a concert that was happening locally (only it got cancelled).
This year it was a jobbing carpenter who's staying locally finishing a job and it was his birthday yesterday, and the place where he's staying serves chips (french fries to you guys) with everything and he couldn't get back to his family for the celebration and we took pity on him.
I think it's quite a nice tradition, actually.

A few years ago. I wrote my wife a poem on Valentines day. She said it was the most romantic thing I'd ever done for her....... We almost  didn't divorce.
