Dang. I had finally gotten the idea out of my head to get a fish tank. Now I want one again. Fish = l33t

I heard a rumor that Steve was busted for pot and that's why he's no longer on "that show". You know how rumors are.

Igor, cruising...

These are some 'tres cool fishes, BV. Salt water, I assume? They look rather eelish, or perhaps like a freshwater snakehead gone very large.

BigV 06-22-2005 11:00 PM

hahaha... No, freshwater only. I don't have nearly the chops for marine setup. These guys are not that big, about as big around as my thumb, and maybe a foot long. And escape artists. They like the corners and they like to be vertical. Better have the lid on tight. Dumb too cause the cats are just *wettin* themselves in anticipation of a successful jailbreak.

Elspode 06-22-2005 11:10 PM

My cats thought they wanted a piece of the Oscars, too...until the orange one came out of the tank and gave 'em a shot. I had to pick him up and put him back in the tank while the cats sat at a safe distance going, "Um...not today...ees too dangerous...maybe next week..."

I don't mean to bag on BigV's fish but...they look like monsters. I don't go in the water. Monster's live in the water. They might eat you.

BigV 06-23-2005 03:15 PM

For me that was the appeal. They look positively monstrous. Hehe, but they're sweet and shy, practically blind, did you see those tiny eyes?

Trilby 06-23-2005 03:48 PM

Riiiiiight. Sweet and shy. I wasn't born yesterday, BigV. I know flesh-eating monsters when I see them--"tiny eyes" or not! :eyeball: :eyeball:

So it's a common behavioral trait for these gobi things to not realize they haven't evolved sufficiently to breath air, but they keep trying to escape.

I see.

Maybe your problem is really that they need their own remote for the TV, that way the won't be trying to get out of the tank.
