So Wrong.....

monster 12-26-2007 10:32 PM

damn, beaten by milliseconds

classicman 12-26-2007 10:33 PM

Don't fret monster. The milliseconds have had some real good drafts and some free agent aquisitions last offseason.

busterb 12-27-2007 08:26 PM

Classicman. I have to wonder why, when you have no dog in this hunt, why post? Am I missing something??

monster 12-27-2007 08:28 PM

Hey we all wanna see the goodies. A cat may look at a king and all that..... ;)

What secret?!? I wasn't going to tell everyone 'bout your little winky.
:D
Well, I'm on pins and needles waiting for it to get there........Oh jeez.
The woman that sold it to me (the gift) looked at me like I'm an asshole for not having the recipients phone number....If this person isn't home to receive it they are going to call me which is useless.Uh yea...I don't know the person that I sent this too, so uhhh, they should be home sometime after 6pm?Yea...I didn't tell the woman (sales clerk) that I didn't even know who I'm sending it to....it is a name and address I got and I just send stuff. Imagine the look I would have gotten then....
:)

Humm. Oh well another day in the life of "SS"

richlevy 12-28-2007 12:46 PM

Well I'm looking forward to seeing the one I bought. This was my second choice gift. The first was a truly amazing (and cheap) MP3 player/FM radio/Voice Record combination that accepts SD cards in addition to it's scanty 128MB internal memory. I bought one at the QVC outlet and it's my favorite so far. It looks cheap, so I don't fear leaving it on a lounge chair while I hit the pool, but it has great sound (has built in equalizer) and accepts a 1GB card with no problem. So even including a $15 1GB SD card, the player would cost me less than $25. Even if someone did steal it, it's better than losing a $200+ Ipod.

The Emerson MP205, unfortunately, was no longer available at the QVC outlet store and I could not find it on-line. The one I got was less than $10 during their store sale, so I should have bought a few when I had the chance.

My 3rd choice was a Swiss army knife knockoff.

The 2nd choice was the one I went with. It's similar to something I own, but I used an on-line merchant I never used before, which is why I was worried. It's custom made, so I would love to see a picture of how it turned out.

BigV 12-31-2007 05:36 PM

THAT'S IT EXACTLY!

I must also say that it is very popular with all the kiddies, and it is twice as annoying in person than it is in that video. To get the full effect, you must turn the volume up to 11.

Oh, and thanks zippyt! Much, much fun!

zippyt 12-31-2007 05:37 PM

I didn't meen for it to be quite THAT annoying !!!

I hate NM. Well, the supposed post office. This happened last year and caused a huge fight between me and my mom...I should not have participated knowing that I might not receive a present because my house has been there for over 300 years and no one can seem to find it, outside of the fact it's probably at least 8000 square feet and doubles as a historical site. It has 2 addresses and people can't seem to find one of them. Sorry SS I will try to track this package.....
;(
I have been good this year. I sware!! I deserve a present really, I do!!

Yep.

Them chickens are from the great state of Washington. To be honest, I don't know where they were grown. But their glamor shot calendar was purchased in Seattle.

Hey buster! Can we get another shot of the other side of the calendar with the little pics of all the other months? There are some crazy chickens there!

Merry Christmas!

Oh well....it was worth a shot....
:D

richlevy 01-04-2008 10:30 PM

Ok, I can't wait any longer.

Some of you may remember that I went to Venice Beach last year and got a necklace with names on a grain of rice,

The lady who sold me my necklace did not have exactly what I wanted, so I went to a different site.

I got a beaded keychain with a capsule containing 2 grains of rice. I was limited to 10 characters x 2 sides x 2 grains.

I asked them to write:

The Cellar
cellar.org
Typewriter
+Monkeys=

I asked Tony for the tag file, but I could not find any taglines that fit the format.

I'd like to see a picture of how it turned out.

Cicero 01-05-2008 01:32 PM

I picked up my package!!! It only took 3 weeks to get here. It's still awesome though!!!

:D :thumb2: :joylove: :xmashat: :jig: :celebrat: :girlband:

monster 01-05-2008 01:35 PM

Cicero 01-05-2008 01:44 PM

I thought you liked our little too-ing and fro-ing monster!! Oh well...better luck next year.
;)

Now I need someone to start checking their mail because I sent them something very good.

Even if you were not involved with secret santa...go check your mail!!! Damn it!!!!
:)
If there is a slip from the post office that says you have something go get it!! AAaaaah! This is killing me!!

Shawnee123 01-07-2008 12:50 PM

Looking at the print on the calendar, I was especially impressed with the Naked-Neck Frizzle. Shazizzle, Frizzle. Got me a new user title!

Shawnee123 01-07-2008 04:09 PM

I just found out something, and I don't know who specifically to thank, but I am overwhelmed by someone's kindness.

I decided not to participate in SS because funding has been so bad this year. Homeless Guy is starting a new job TODAY, and I am hoping for relief, but I didn't want to sign up for SS and have to slack off on getting someone something they would enjoy.

(This post is going to seem a bit disjointed but I am sort of shy about these kinds of things.)

Well, I took last Wednesday I took the day off. Someone knocked on my door. It was Mr Fed Ex. After I stopped hearing the pron music in my head, I signed for the package.

I opened it and inside was a digital camera and a memory card. I've been wanting a camera for a very long time, but didn't think I'd mentioned it to anyone in my family. But I called Mom and asked my ex-husband and nobody was taking credit.

A birdy told me today that it was someone or someones from the Cellar. I don't even know where to begin to thank you. What a nice, wonderful thing for someone to do. Of course I, as is my way, feel slightly embarrassed and undeserving, I'm never good when people do nice things for me. That is selfish, I know, for me not to let someone feel good about doing something nice...so I'm working on that.

You can't possibly know how happy you've made me. I've taken a few pics of my cats and need to get them onto my work computer so I can share. I also can't wait to take some pics of the wildlife on the river this spring. I will have to do a house tour, too, once I've figured it out.

So thank you thank you thank you. Your kindness reminds me of all the good in the world, and reminds me how good it feels to be the recipient of such a selfless act.

Whoever you are, I am deeply indebted. I wish I had known for sure it was a Dwellar earlier, and I hope you don't think I was being ungrateful...just afraid to say anything for fear of looking stupid.

In all the seriousness I possess, I thank you and wish you many happy returns from people paying your kindness forward.

Shawnee :)

Aliantha 01-07-2008 04:27 PM

Wow...nice gift, but how did they know where you live??!!

Undertoad 01-07-2008 05:08 PM

You know what else it means.

do the right thing

Cicero 01-07-2008 05:19 PM

Holy Crap!! Wow. You guys are nice. I thought there was supposed to be a 15 dollar limit on these things!

busterb 01-07-2008 06:40 PM

I deleted the photo in post 97 from Flickr. Have a new, better one. How can I edit? Or what? :smack:

monster 01-07-2008 07:18 PM

Yes, this SS was a bit naughty regarding the limit, but I think in the circumstances they can be forgiven.

Shawnee, some people wanted to participate but did not want to receive gifts, so we had to find a few extra names to whisper in Santa's ear.

I think we're still waiting for one gift to arrive and a couple of people to post pics...... longest festive season ever,i reckon......

(like herding bloody cats this job.....)

yw. sorry you weren't good enough to have your name whispered in Santa's ear. I tried... but he said something about you stealing his doo-dads..... i didn't like to enquire further

bluecuracao 01-08-2008 05:09 PM

I've been enjoying my SS gifts for quite some time now, but my unreliable wifi connection has kept me from posting the goods...here they are, at last.

http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...o/IMG_0434.jpg

Sunburnt Country-Stories of Australian Life is completely fascinating, and I'm about a third of the way through. I almost didn't want to use the coasters, which have beautiful graphics and made me hesitant to risk staining them, but I did break two in so far. They are very resilient.

I haven't quite figured out how to use the Biters yet, but my cat sure has. I have to make sure to keep the container closed so he doesn't pick them out on the sly. The little note that came with them says that purchasing them supports The Lighthouse Foundation.

Thanks very very much, Secret Santa!!

I give up. My camera is not cooperating in the least so I cannot post pics of my exact gift opening moment. But my SS rulz! Thanks SS!(clodfobble?) someone in texas sent me a pair of Arsenal FC flip flops just like these:

SteveDallas 01-10-2008 07:13 PM

Wait... so you're going to walk all over the emblems of your favorite team?? In't that desecration of some kind? (Maybe the Arsenal toilet paper was out of stock.)

One of the few brand names that actually makes sense.

LabRat 01-11-2008 10:54 AM

Has everone already figured out who their sender was???? I haven't the foggiest who mine was, was from PA, and that's all I know.

I'm dying to tell my recipient that I was their SS...I want to know how they liked their gift!!

monster 01-11-2008 11:56 AM

I say go for it, LR -this needs some spicing up

DanaC 01-11-2008 12:00 PM

Well, I had assumed LJ for my knitted cock (and Pilau's naked cock), but that was just because it was an 'LJ memorial knitted cock'....actually given the Cellar that doesnt necessarily mean LJ :P

monster 01-11-2008 12:16 PM

What i want to know (for scientific purposes only) is

1) have you imagined LJ lovingly knitting it an measuring it for size every now and again?

2) have you tried it on on the significant cock in your life, or is it a stiffed cock? In which case.....

Do you think LJ is a secret knitter?
There was a clue ... did you keep the card?

DanaC 01-11-2008 01:44 PM

Yup...kept it. It says One LJ Memorial knitted cock....and one naked cock....and wishes me the best for new year...unsigned :P

Hmmm.....who knits around here...*thinks* actually I assumed it was bought ready knitted ;P
