Actually, looking at it again, Jinx, you look like a midwife with a tough 'splainin job to do.

He is very sweet though - thanks guys.

I love the relaxing cats vibe we have going!
Joe & Ali - you have lovely cats.

I'll try to get Mum to take a pic of Diz in his relaxed baby pose in my arms, but to be honest, he is such an attention whore that he won't chill out when there is movement around him.

What I need is a motion sensitive, night vision camera. Oh and make it semi-X-ray as well (I'm making it up, I can have what I want!)

Because he is at his cutest in the early mornings. This morning I woke up to find one paw on my cheek. He was lying as if he had his arms around me, but being a small cat and me having a big fat face he only got one paw up. His back legs were against my upper chest and his head was on the pillow.

This is mostly because I lost the lead to the heated pad he used to have in his cat bed :( In truth he could snuggle down in the airing cupboard or on the storage heater - but Singas are people cats, so he settles down with me.

Because I was up early - for me (signing on day) - I left him asleep while I ate and showered. When I came back into the bedroom he was in the same position - covered up with the duvet, head in the pillow - so cute I was tempted to get back into bed. I didn't of course.

Anyway, back to pictures - I will supply one sometime soon.

you know how you take your kid to get photographed, and they arrange the hands on a drape? Ivan always does funny positions with his paws, and I caught this one on my new iphone:

Cloud, Ivan has trained you well!
He assumes the pose, you get the camera ;)

Here is Diz last night. Not a bad attempt - at least he is still more or less in the same position he was before I drew the duvet back. This is the few seconds in between dead to the world with a smile on his face, and wide awake wanting to be entertained.

The odd lighting effect is the bedside lamp - if I'd crossed the room to put the main light on I wouldn't have got the photo.

DanaC 01-12-2009 05:53 AM

Awww. He looks very comfy. I love the delicately curled paw lol. Very lionesque.

Sundae 01-12-2009 09:40 AM

Again, not RFN. Sunday.
But this thread is as good a place as any I reckon.

What I say in the clip is true. This is Diz mewing, in a pathetic big-eyed way.
Usuaully if he feels he is being denied something he will SHOUT!
All attempts to capture this have been unsuccessful, so this is all you get.

Just hope PETA don't see it...

jinx 01-12-2009 09:59 AM

Look how sweet...

I can attest to this.

Sundae 01-12-2009 12:24 PM

I think part of the problem was that it was me filming.
Most of his attention is therefore on me.

If my parents are in the kitchen, ALL of his attention is on the prize (in this case a turkey, sometimes just the door to the garden, or even the cup of tea they have just made, until he gets shown it with the classic family line, "Cats don't like..."). That is when he starts to yowl - as Dana is witness.

When I am there he tries the charm offensive.
I live with the Charles Manson of the cat world.
But I love him.

To even this up with the dog thread. Diz, before lunch today.

Pico and ME 01-25-2009 09:55 AM

I want Diz! What a cutie. SG, you've gotten me seriously interested in his breed. I would love to have a cat as personable and snuggly as him.

Sundae 01-25-2009 09:59 AM

Jinx and Ducks might disagree, but I say if you have time enough and love for a pedigree, buy a Singapura. They are distilled essence of cat - all the things cat-lovers love, but in a tiny, springy, muscular package.

If my ship ever comes in I will get another (though I'd have to drug Diz for a few days until he got used to a newcomer). In the mean time I'm just grateful that I still have my boy with me. Even my Mum now understands why I stayed so long in Leicester when things went wrong, just because I was terrified of having to give them up.

This is from my cats:

Hey, dont' kill the messenger, they said it.

footfootfoot 01-29-2009 07:32 PM

My cats plummeted to earth about five years ago and I rarely take pictures of them any more. Before that, I'd shot thousands.

Strange how that works.

Shawnee123 01-29-2009 07:34 PM

Why would anyone shoot thousands of cats? You musta been a farm guy.

footfootfoot 01-29-2009 07:47 PM

Sundae 02-12-2009 03:43 PM

Shawnee123 02-12-2009 06:55 PM

Hi kitty!

Looks like a sweetie.

xoxoxoBruce 02-12-2009 11:24 PM

That Kitty looks like it leads a rough life. :lol2:

Katkeeper 02-13-2009 07:34 AM

I had put the mat down to show to a friend, and Corvina decided to take it over, making for a good photo op. It is especially appropriate because she has done more than the usual damage to the furniture! Fortunately I decided long ago that cats were more important than sofas and chairs.

I want one of those mats!

and I agree--I value my pets much more than my furnishings.

Katkeeper 02-15-2009 05:52 AM

I got the mat at a store called "Tuesday Morning". They sell odd lots of leftover merchandise. They have a "Beware of Dog" mat that has chunks bitten out of the edges of it, which is also very funny.

DanaC 02-15-2009 08:07 AM

I long ago gave up on keeping any decent carpets because of my dog...I don't care:) I love my dog....carpets? meh.

A friend of a friend recently had to give her two dogs up. Work commitments were getting to the point she never saw them and was spending half her wage on dog sitters/walkers. I felt so sorry for her. But at the same time, I also knew, I'd never find myself in that position, because I'd give the job up first lol.

Kung Pao kitty is so cute.

Ugh, I'm seriously thinking of getting a kitt-un. Must Not Give In. Sure would be nice to have a snuggly little baby kitteh right about now, though. ;)

fargon 02-15-2009 03:50 PM

She may be cute, but she is a 4:30AM alarm clock with claws.

Shawnee123 02-15-2009 03:55 PM

Ahhhh, yes. Thanks. Tell me more, I do NOT need a kitten right now. lol

Clodfobble 02-15-2009 04:15 PM

She is also a walking poop dispenser.

Shawnee123 02-15-2009 04:16 PM

OK...waking moments. Poop.

One more and I'll discard the idea of a kitten I don't really need right now. ;)

xoxoxoBruce 02-15-2009 06:32 PM

A cat would interupt when we're doing the beast with two backs.
How's that? :lol2:

Shawnee123 02-15-2009 06:33 PM

HUH? Pass some of that over here, so I can understand your post.

Hey, bad smilie...bad bad smilie. ;)

xoxoxoBruce 02-15-2009 06:36 PM

Well, you wanted one more reason. :D

This is Gizmo sitting on Max (baby in my belly). She does this most days around this time.

Attachment 21893

Sundae 02-16-2009 06:26 AM

Ali that is super-cute, I love it.
Does she ever get booted in the head?

Aliantha 02-16-2009 03:45 PM

Oh yes, she gets bumped about a bit. Sometimes she sits her whole body on my belly and rests her head between my boobs. That way she cops a body blow instead of a head shot.

I actually think she likes the vibrations or something. As I said, she seems to want to sit on my belly quite a lot now.

ZenGum 02-16-2009 09:08 PM

Haven't you heard of in-womb learning? Max's first word is going to be "meow"!

Seriously, does gizmo purr in that position? The vibrations will reach Max for sure, I wonder what he'd make of them.

Cloud 02-16-2009 10:22 PM

awwww! a protector!

and, oh, I'm getting excited for you!

Yeah...she purs and then after a while starts dribbling she gets so comfy. She's not an old cat either. Only a bit over 1. I don't know what Max thinks about it, but he seems to like it. He kicks a bit at first but then seems to go to sleep.

Some of the squirrels around here keep New York City sewer rats for bitches, I even saw one punk a raccoon once.

BTW, where would I get a squirrel catapult? (Heavy duty/extra large o'course!!)
