The Trouble with Tribbles Hallmark ornament is far cooler than I thought. I mean, I even played with it in the store, briefly, but this thing is keeping me entertained for hours.

I also got the Reliant from Wrath of Khan, and don't tell momwolf that I bought myself the Communicator.

She also gave me a bunch more cash than I expected, which is to go to purchasing content for the Kindle. Gotta find some things to buy for it!

Sundae 12-25-2008 06:01 AM

I have my Christmas dress on right now, and I vamped up my make-up to make me feel special.

My sister bought me a black top which looks very suitable. I'm still tempted to wear the corset to her house tomorrow though. I'll see what Mum says. If not, I'll wear my new top and my Mrs Lovatt skirt - that'll make enough of a statement :) I don't want to upset her - it's her Boxing Day too - just shake her up a little.

Mum & Dad also bought me a Waterstone's gift card (angels) and my bro bought me some more Ass Kicking Cornbread mix (also angel).

Funny thing was, I forgot I's got TWO presents each for Mum & Dad. So they opened the first, then I came up to check on the pile I'm taking tomorrow. There seemed far too many. So I'm examining them all (I don't do gift tags) for the personal signs I mark on them to identify them to me. And even then, I had no idea what they were!

I'd bought Dad a presentation bottle of Spitfire ale, with silver (plated) cufflinks, which he is now wearing. And Mum a Champneys gift pack. Actually - I bought that last January and it was £40 reduced to £10. But she doesn't know that and was bowled over (Champneys is a world renowned heath spa which is only about 5 miles from here).

And I can't remember a lot of what I bought anyone else either, so I'll have more lovely surprises tomorrow!

Merry Christmas all, better go downstairs and eat some sausage rolls :)

Just opened the boxes from my family. Got two magic tricks, David Blaine's 'Mysterious Stranger', three decks of very nice cards, a mini-deck of cards, a gaffed deck of cards, a book on training one's memory and a bracelet with my initials etched onto it.

edit: And a CamelBak Alpine Explorer bag.

skysidhe 12-25-2008 11:05 AM

Isn't it cool? Know what it is? Any Harry Potter fans? It's a time-turner! I wish it really worked! Who couldn't use a couple more hours in the day?

Also got a 20" LCD widescreen monitor, some nifty Abercrombie slipper socks, and a manicure set.

Merry Christmas!

That's very strong. Really enjoyed it while watching the film.

elSicomoro 12-26-2008 10:09 AM

I got a few gift cards, some slippers and clothes. It was a decent Xmas, though the move and the lack of money and jobs hung over it.

That was a powerful movie. To bad the poor bastard didn't have the soundtrack while he was starving to death.

Surprisingly, I got a lot of cash this year, which I promptly re-gifted to my wife, and father, although I will keep a $200 visa gift card one of my vendors bought me. I gave my mom my computer and got myself a new computer.

I got a Dell Studio XPS 435MT. It has one of the brand new Intel i7 quad-core processors, 6GB of tri-channel ram, 16x DVD burner, etc.

It came with a 23" HD Flat panel monitor, but I paid an extra $50 to get THIS 24" monitor!! This is by far the nicest monitor I've ever had. I like that it has VGA, DVI, and HDMI interfaces.

I also paid a bit extra to get Bose speakers.

I've been in computer nirvana for a week or two. I am not a big gamer, but I want to get some cool games to see how well it performs. It came with a 500GB drive, but I'll be adding a 1TB drive because porn takes up a lot of space.

They are called the Fairy Pack. Very neat pictures

Clodfobble 12-27-2008 09:17 AM

Anathem, that cool measuring cup posted here awhile back with random measurements on it (volume of skin cells shedded in a day, etc.,) two new cookbooks, a couple t-shirts, a birdfeeder (with new patented Squirrel Busting Technology!, apparently) and some really inappropriate clothing. Fortunately the in-laws always include gift receipts with the clothing they always buy us. We already made returns to Sears and Target last night, and Wal-mart is coming soon.

Not that kind of inappropriate. As in, not something that anyone who had ever looked at me for two seconds would imagine might be something I would like. And the wrong size, to boot.
