I'm in.
Am happy to send overseas - I love Limey and Dana, but I'm seeing them early January.
It's nice to send to one person and have them represent the Cellar for me.

As long as I don't get no-one yucky.

Woo HOO! Gettin' closer!

DanaC 10-29-2010 06:51 PM

Ain't it though? We should start practising our He's-behind-you' s.

Tulip 10-29-2010 10:13 PM

November's approaching. We're gonna need a volunteer to organize Secret Santa. :D

busterb 11-05-2010 07:47 PM

Someone step up! I'm not smart enought to run this goat roping

Jaydaan 11-05-2010 09:08 PM

ok ok ok.. if no one with experience steps up, I will do it.

Tulip 11-05-2010 11:15 PM

Jaydaan, if you really want to participate, I can organize the Secret Santa, provided that the other members agree. I can do it if the other members trust me. But, umm....I've never organized one before. Ain't so hard to organize one, is it? :D

xoxoxoBruce 11-05-2010 11:29 PM

No tougher than herding cats... big jungle cats. ;)

Tulip 11-05-2010 11:39 PM

Oh, then I would need a really big whip...:frog:

Jaydaan 11-07-2010 01:17 PM

LOL I planned on participating too... I was just going to make sure we had even numbers, and then the last name left would be mine. If we didn't have even numbers I would have dropped out. Either way hun.. if you want to do it, go for it, if not, I will.
Please let me know what you decide this weekend, so if I am doing it, I can work out the kinks, get the names and get this nifty little ball rolling :)

Sundae 11-07-2010 02:04 PM

Monnie says you don't need even numbers.
I said you did (in ignorance) and she proved otherwise. Somehow. In a completely convincing way.

Guess why I didn't volunteer :)

Also you need to ask about donors - some people like to send and not receive.
And sometimes people like to send to deserving causes who have refused to register because they can't send - this mostly requires asking people for other people's addresses via PM.

Oh, and we need a theme.
And everyone needs to advise you of despatch.
Then we need a new thread for receipts.

Not trying to tell you your job.

Girl, if you can organize and participate, then I pass the ball to you. :D I counted a total of 24 participants. I counted Casimendocina, Aliantha, and Ducknuts in the list but for the Aussie only. So, there's really only 21 names to shuffle. If there's anyone who prefer not to send internationally other than Morethanpretty and Classicman should speak up now too.

Clodfobble 11-07-2010 06:13 PM

You don't need even numbers because it's not done in matched pairs. A gives to B, B gives to C, and C gives to A. Aside from not needing even numbers, it's important because part of the fun is guessing who gave to you.

busterb 11-07-2010 06:30 PM

I'm sorry, but I think I'll have to pass on oversears this year.

monster 11-07-2010 07:06 PM

OK, I don't want to organoze this year because ... well, just because. But I'm happy to arrange/randomize who gives to who including the organizer if the organizer sends me a list of names split into the following categories (and any I missed)

N. Am to N. Am only
N. Am to anywhere
Europe to Europe only
Europe to Anywhere
Australasia to Aus only
Australasia to anywhere
Anywhere else to Anywhere (no non-overseas option for these people)

You can then send out the mailing details to the appropriate people. And SG's right, it doesn't matter how many there are in each category, it will work.

Jaydaan 11-07-2010 07:27 PM

Okies.... here goes.

I will organize this little adventure.

Do we really need a theme?

Lets see... how about a $10-25ish limit, before shipping? I am sure some will go over, but we should have a limit so people don't feel obligated on a cost. :)
Remember its not the $$ spent, but the thought and effort that counts!

Anyone willing to ship a gift, but do not want to recive one, please let me know
It would be nice to have 2 "stand by" givers as well... in case someone joins then can not participate after the names are drawn.

Let's have the names drawn on Nov 15th, and then all parcels sent out by Nov 29th. Does that sound fair enough, to get all names in, and 2 weeks to get your gift?

I need each person who wishes to join in to PM me the following:
-Real name, address
-How far you are willing to ship to
-Describe to me your 3 likes and 3 dislikes
-Tell me your fav colour, hobbies, etc...

Anything I have missed, I am sure someone will let me know ;)

wolf 11-07-2010 07:58 PM

You might want to include clothing sizes in your list (specify country). One Size Fits All doesn't! (not that I'd ask for or send a tee shirt, but such a thing can happen).

Jaydaan 11-07-2010 09:32 PM

Hmmmm good point.. I guess if you are willing to have someone else shop for clothes for you, please include shirt size... lol

Sundae 11-08-2010 04:44 AM

Sorry for not volunteering this year - I have in other years and I've not been needed. I just have a bit more going on this year - hurray!!!

Thanks to Jay for taking the baton from Monster's capable hands.

casimendocina 11-09-2010 05:39 AM

So I'll organise Secret Santa/Kris Kringle for Ducks, Ali and I - within Oz only.

If you, Ducks, and Ali don't mind, I think Jaydaan wouldn't mind shuffling the 3 names among yourselves. That way, you three will only send within Aussie and all three will still not know who's ur secret Santa. Unless y'all would prefer to organize your own, then....

Aliantha 11-10-2010 04:29 AM

I think Casi is going to organize for us Tulip, so you probably don't need to worry about putting our names in the hat. At least, that's my understanding anyway.

casimendocina 11-10-2010 06:08 AM

I'm fine with that.

CzinZumerzet 11-10-2010 11:41 AM

Please count me in!

Jaydaan 11-10-2010 08:22 PM

I am sure Casi has that under control :)

As for the rest of us, I have 12 names so far, with me 13. You have 4 days to get your name in the hat. On the 15th I will draw names, and reply to each privately at that time.

I wish I had the $$ to send EVERYONE a gift, your answers have made me smile and chuckle, and many times I have thought.. ohhh I know exactly what they would like. I think this years gift will be exciting to see pictured.

tw 11-10-2010 09:52 PM

I'm so exciting. 24 hours of only Christmas music starts next week.

Jaydaan,
I just googled Vernon, BC. I had assumed it was coastal. You are seriously in East Cornflake. What happens in Vernon?

Jaydaan 11-10-2010 10:38 PM

LoL
We are about 4-5 hours from the West Coast. Right in the middle of the mountains.
Vernon is pretty quiet, just the way we like it. We are in the Valley, surrounded with mountians. Funny, we call them hills now...
Even on the rainy gloomy days, my walk to work makes me realized how pretty this city really is. We are a 10-15 min drive from several lakes, including the one that is hiding our lake monster, Ogopgo.
We are big enough to have some good concerts and festivals, and small enough to be laid back and carefree. More people own boats, then houses, so a study last year tells us. We are about 20 mins away from Silver Star Ski resort, and about 45 mins away from Big White.
Lots to do, if you care to. Otherwise, sit on your deck with your neighbours and drink a beer. :)

Tulip 11-13-2010 11:24 PM

This post is just a reminder for those interested to send Jaydaan their infos before the drawing of names on the 15th. :)

Jaydaan 11-14-2010 08:58 AM

I was about to post a reminder.. but Tulip did that already for me. LOL
24 hours left to get you names to me. Tomorrow I will organize who can send to where, and draw names.
PS I have worked 6 days straight, have a trade show all day today, and have a freaking cold. Do not expect your name info too early tomorrow :)

footfootfoot 11-14-2010 09:11 AM

I thought about making a sock puppet with a similar looking handle to Jaydaan and then posting here all the names of the people and who they were matched to. I thought it might be funny to see everyone's reactions... I am avoiding other work.

morethanpretty 11-14-2010 09:23 AM

Thanks for the reminder

What do you expect, it's November, and you spend 6 days in those scandalous nighties. ;)

Jaydaan 11-14-2010 09:43 PM

LoL not the nighties... in the beer store. But todays trade show was my Wiccan stuff and nighties, get this the Witch stuff sold 3-1 to the lingerie/toys.

xoxoxoBruce 11-15-2010 01:56 AM

Halloween hangover? Delaware residents?

BrianR 11-15-2010 11:07 AM

I got my info in late, as I was on the road and missed the posting. I hope I'm not too late...

Jaydaan 11-15-2010 01:07 PM

Brian, not too late.. but I need more info for your secret santa sender. Please send me your likes/ dislikes . Thanks

Going to have my breakfast, wake up and then start sorting names/locations. I will check my pms one more time beofre I draw names, so latecomers have about 2 hours left....

Don't forget to wear the sorting hat. ;)

Jaydaan 11-15-2010 02:57 PM

Okies.... check your messages... names have been drawn, and messages have been copied and sent to your senders.

Here's hoping I did right. I had one small hiccup, but was able to smooth it out.. lol
If anyone got over seas, when they can not afford the extra shipping, please contact me. I *will* make it work. I will personally add the extra $$ to a PayPal account so you can send your parcels. :) (within reason of course)

Jaydaan 11-15-2010 04:25 PM

I did not give out handles with the names... I was not sure if I should have or not. If anyone needs these to help you shop, let me know and I will send thier handles too.

This is not a problem for some of us.

Jaydaan 11-15-2010 08:55 PM

I made a small mistake, it seems... is it possible to have one more person from North America, who can ship overseas join our group, please? One more person will fix my oversight, without messing up all the emails.
Thanks

footfootfoot 11-15-2010 09:54 PM

Do you do the modelling for your company or the order fulfillment? ;)

Jaydaan 11-16-2010 08:50 AM

All fixed, thanks to all who offered!

Jaydaan 11-23-2010 08:58 PM

Reminder: 1 week left to purchase and send out your gifts :)
Remember to send me an email once they are in the mail.

zippyt 11-23-2010 09:18 PM

Shit , Ok , On it !!!

classicman 11-23-2010 10:12 PM
