Congratulations, classic! It's got to be weird, having something that was so stressful for so long just *poof* disappear like that.

BigV 01-28-2013 10:22 AM

*blinks* wow! I'm speechless

There is NO WAY I have not posted in this thread since Jan... WTH?

Well... shit... OK I don't really have time to catch you all up on the details - maybe thats a good thing. Anyway back in Sept, we set up a plan for my son to start working for Wawa through the school to give him some work experience for when school ends this June. (At 21 they kick you out ready or not) He was supposed to start right after xmas break. When Jan & Feb went by without an answer from the woman at Wawa corporate, I decided to get involved. Long story short. It turned out easier to get him a job FOR PAY than to get him a job through the work study program.

Dan PKA "the man" with his first paycheck from Wawa - All $19 of it.
Majorly proud Dad here.

*cheering and applause*

Bloody hell, that's so brilliant, classic.

glatt 05-09-2013 07:22 AM

Excellent!

Clodfobble 05-09-2013 07:35 AM

Awesome!!

Chocolatl 05-09-2013 07:44 AM

Awesome! Congrats, Dan!

Jeff recently passed his 10 year anniversary with Wawa. They are a great organization and the location he's been at for the past few years is very good to him. The staff and management are very supportive.

Let me know which store he's working at.

orthodoc 05-09-2013 07:31 PM

Congrats classic! To you and to your son. So much achieved. You're one great dad. :)

Lola Bunny 05-09-2013 09:19 PM

Excellent !

Griff 05-11-2013 12:12 PM

Good work!

classicman 05-19-2013 10:48 PM

Thanks all. We are pretty stoked here as well.
Rich he's at the Wawa closest to us. across from TD Bank.
So far he is there from 9-11am M/W/F. We are working on expanding hours very soon.

Oh, did I mention he is getting his HS diploma in 3 weeks?
HOLY CRAP! he'll be a HS Graduate for realz.

classicman 11-08-2013 01:14 AM

W0W - Been too long.
We are officially a HS graduate. Watered down "ceremony in the library for all the "special" kids. Still working at Wawa - 5 days a week 2 hrs a day. Its been rough lately as we have a new manager and his expectations of Dan are unrealistic. This may become a serious problem for Dan and his employment. Aside from that, sadly not much new or different.

Urbane Guerrilla 11-08-2013 01:39 AM

Hello again!

Clodfobble 11-08-2013 08:19 AM

Good to see you around again, classic and Urbane. Congrats on Dan's graduation, classic. Did the improvements from the laser treatment eventually plateau, or is that still ongoing?

classicman 11-08-2013 09:35 AM

Laser turned out to be a bust - much like all the other treatments, both conventional & alternative. Seems like time is the only thing that really makes any noticeable change. I'm thinking of trying some pharmaceuticals. I wanna see what happens when he is on "speed." We meet with the neurologist next week. Will ask then.

Oh, one more thing - Dan is sick of me being his taxi - he wants to get his Drivers license reinstated OMFG!!!!!

DanaC 11-09-2013 06:29 AM

Heya Classic: nice to see you:) Was wondering how you guys were getting on.
