Happy Monkey

damn. what a smart guy. judging by the one picture we've seen of him, i'd make him to be in his mid twenties, but he seems to know a good bit about pretty much everything that comes up on here. he's unabrasvie, whitty, and insightful. and a damn fine craftsman.
here's to the monkey! a 21 banana salute!!

DanaC 05-24-2004 10:11 AM

Cellarites I think are particularly worthy of note are...Onyx Cougar.......that purple writing always cheers me up. Undertoad because he's da boss.....LJ because he'salways fun..... yelof because he's always got an intelligent angle on everything.....marichiko for being darned witty

Happy Monkey 05-24-2004 10:17 AM

Lumberjim...

writes a damn good compliment. :)

DanaC 05-24-2004 10:22 AM

that reminds me, yah, Happy monkey cause whats not to like about a happy monkey? and catwoman cause she's way cool

DanaC 05-24-2004 10:29 AM

The trouble with this thread is I keep remembering people to compliment.
jaguar rocks

marichiko 05-24-2004 12:27 PM

DanaC because she realizes quality when she sees it ;) and also writes some extremely intelligent posts; Jaguar because he is too cool for words, but writes them, anyhow; LJ because he's funny and contributes so much to the cellar; Lady Sycamore because of her passion and wit; xoxoxoBruce because is generally level headed, amusing and kind.

jaguar 05-24-2004 01:19 PM

I knew all this place needed was a group hug.

marichiko for being deeply cool, DanaC for enlightening discussions of controlled substances, Wolf for being able to see a bit further than people`s political allignments, Syc for still being here, UT for paying for everything, LJ for being the self appointed village idiot (in a good way), Slang was cool but doesn`t seem to be around much anymore. xoxoxoBruce for the very cool dodads and enlightening anecdotes. At the end of the day I have a wider POV than I would if I had never come here and for that, I`m glad (avoids comments about looking into the abyss).

Like syc I`ve been here long enough to see people come and people go, I`ve seen plenty of stupid spats but many interesting and adult debates as well, in this day and age a free-for-all of ideas like this place is a very positive force in a world dominated by one-way media that has no interest in challanging our preconceptions.

On the MIA and missed list are Nic Name and Xumagad, who IMHO made the best argued posts here, JuJu was cool too but seems to live on his own board now.

elSicomoro 05-24-2004 01:48 PM

We've known each other 3 years, jag...and that's all you could say about me, you bastard? :)

Props to...

--Jag for hosting the Bosque
--UT for hosting the Cellar
--LadySyc for putting up with my shit
--me for dealing with all of you :)

Yelof 05-24-2004 02:12 PM

First of all I would like to thank my mother and my father, this award was won by a team who should be up here on the podium with me....Shame on you, Mr. Bush! Shame on you!

;)

Nah I don't think I'll do the compliments thing, but thanks to all of you who complimented me (Danac)

:D

Me and my stupid memory. I wanted to compliment Yelof, as well, but couldn't remember your user name. So you may add me as well as DanaC to your list of fans. ;)

Catwoman 06-10-2004 09:57 AM

Marichiko for being right-on and literate
Jaguar for being kind and intelligent
Beestie for being strong but not abusive
Lady Sidhe for making me angry and inspiring a decent argument
DanaC for having a good point and putting it over gently and without contempt
Radar for his directness and lack of apology
LJ for his occasional wisdom
Glatt for making me see things I've missed
blue for being kinda cool
xoxoxoxBruce for being lovely

and I know I've forgotten user names but tough, if you're that good I'll remember your point if not your name

I know I'm only a Cellar baby but so glad I joined. You have all helped me to see things differently, so thank you. And I'd like to *sniff* thank my mother and my *sniff* coke dealer and *blubber* oh it's all too much....

marichiko 07-02-2004 05:45 PM

I feel the need to add some compliments after this latest nasty round with HB. So here goes: UT for making this place available; Sycamore for not bailing out on us and his intelligent posts; LJ, I already complimented you last time but you remain a highly valued member of the board in my book; Smooth Moniker also for intelligence and grace in the face of opposition; Lookout 123 for wit; Catwoman for style and flair; Wolf for no nonsense speaking her mind. I applaud you all.;)

blue 07-02-2004 05:56 PM

Suck up. :D

But it it wasn't for your post I wouldn't have noticed catwoman kinda complimenting me. Hmm, I wonder if others have been saying nice things about me??

Catwoman, weren't you the one bragging on about how every male you know wants to bang you twice? And no pic to back that up? Or did I miss that too? Maybe I'll just mentally picture you as Halle Berry in the meantime.

:p You're just pissed cuz I didn't add you to my list. I considered it, but figured that would be your response. Actually, if there wasn't someone like you around that I could get enraged with, this place would be much more boring. So there!

blue 07-02-2004 06:12 PM

Yeah, plus we already had our obligatory pissing match...it's like we're old buddies. :)

marichiko 07-02-2004 06:14 PM

I love you man! (sniff, sniff) (Staggers off into the Colorado night yet once again);)

Catwoman 07-07-2004 10:26 AM

Blue, pay attention! :)

glatt 10-01-2004 01:41 PM

Lumberjim, for stepping back in for a moment and stirring up a hornet's nest.

lumberjim 10-01-2004 02:04 PM

woo hoo!

i stir shit, therefore I am.

lookout123 10-01-2004 03:22 PM

Garnet, for being such an easy target.

This is a "be nice" thread, Lookout. So you have to be nice, even to me. :o

My compliments to Marichiko, CyberWolf, Brianna, DanaC (and OK, you too Lookout) for being pretty darn COOL people!

lookout123 10-01-2004 03:40 PM

that was being nice garnet. you make for very interesting discussions due to your methods.

Trilby 10-01-2004 04:21 PM

I used to be in love with Nothing But Net (for his excellent haiku's) but now am wondering if I am in love with Ike is my Cat for same reason.

marichiko 10-01-2004 10:13 PM

My compliments to Lookout for one hell of a fine new tag line, Brianna for generosity of spirit, Garnet for courage under fire, Wolf for indefagible grouchiness, Catwoman for intelligence and wit, xoxoxo Bruce for always surprising me (that boy fits in no tidy pigeon-hole), TS for his scholarly posts, LJ for not being here much these days, and, most of all, UT for putting up with us all and working day and night to keep this place going for 14 years!

SteveDallas 10-02-2004 08:42 AM

I believe you mean "indefatigable."

elSicomoro 10-02-2004 08:46 AM

I want to give props to all of you for not sucking that badly. :)

Oh, and Sycamore is way cool, too. I'm glad were starting to see more of HIM around here again.

elSicomoro 10-02-2004 10:56 AM

*bows*

We still have some AOL discs to send you...I just need to find them.

The move was an incredible pain in the ass, but our new apartment is great. St. Louis was lovely, and the 10-year HS reunion went well. We're off to Maine and Boston later in the week, but for all intents and purposes, I am back. After all, someone's gotta keep Lookout on his toes. :)

I did my best in your absence, but I now gladly concede the field to the greater master (and don't forget LJ!)! :D

Cyber Wolf 10-04-2004 05:59 AM

Thanks to all you guys for being uniquely entertaining, providing intelligent albeit sometimes over-emotional discussion and keeping me from withering away from boredom at work! :thumb:

cam2 10-04-2004 02:00 PM

I'd like to compliment the cellar, for staying about the same while everything else on the web changes.

Pssssst! Don't let Hubris Boy or LJ hear you say that! Just thought I'd clue you in since you're a newbie! ;)

elSicomoro 10-04-2004 03:54 PM

Holy shit...is that you, Cam?

cam2 10-04-2004 04:27 PM

Yeah, I'm back. Thought I'd change my username since I took such a long break from this place. Well not so much change it as just sticking a 2 behind it to let everyone who knew me from before know this is my second appearance. It's nice to be back, a lot of changes, but it's still the cellar. UT, props to the new version of vbBulletin, it rocks (though I liked the older visual style better, the new features definitely outweigh that). It's also nice to see you're still around syc. The place has a lot of new faces, but from what I've had a chance to read in the past couple days I can tell the majority of them are a perfect fit for the place. Well I guess I should go meander around the place some more. I haven't been in a good friendly argument/debate in a while.

Roosta 10-06-2004 06:31 PM

I think everyone should get an old pat on the back! It's not often you can find a place on the net that has good conversation, cool pics and you can learn stuff as well without all the crappy arguing. I don't normally do a lot of posting anywhere. Cellar has changed my opinion on forums. Cheers, you lot!!

xoxoxoBruce 10-06-2004 07:04 PM

Oh yeah, well that shows what you know. :biglaugha

Trilby 10-07-2004 02:07 PM

I'd fuck a whole lotta ya.

(I've no standards)

Undertoad 10-07-2004 02:16 PM

If you've no standards, then it's not a compliment!

Trilby 10-07-2004 02:26 PM

well--guess you're right. Ok--suddenly, I've standards....everyone must be a Philadelphian! except lookout--he can remain a 'Zonian.

lookout123 10-07-2004 02:29 PM

what about smoothmoniker - he's in CA
and troubleshooter and lady sidhe are in LA i think
and then there is Jaguar
and ...

Trilby 10-07-2004 02:43 PM

i have to draw the line somewhere.

And get some sleep. I can't be in love with you ALL. (sadly.)

xoxoxoBruce 10-07-2004 07:18 PM

That's OK, something tawdry and physical will suffice. ;)

Bullitt 10-25-2004 07:52 PM

I'd like to thank all ya'll for being such a hilarious and insightful group of folk. I can't remember how I happened upon this lil 'ol place but I'm damn glad I did.

Nonsense. Get yourself a PDA, work out a schedule, and get busy. People not in PA will just have to make travel arrangements.

Clodfobble 10-26-2004 02:43 PM

A PDA to schedule her PDAs! :)

Trilby 10-26-2004 10:17 PM

I already told OnyxCougar--Bruce is mine!

Am I going to have to fight the lot of ya?

Ok--I just broke out my shiv on OnyxCougar on another thread...so I'll have to finish that fight first and then I can fight you for him, OK?

(hope will not be too tired...) :worried:

Hmmm... That means I'd either have to fight you or Onyx and I know either one of you could whoop the hell outta me. Tell you what, I'll compromise and take Smoothmoniker. He may be a tad young for me, but he DID offer me a ride in his hummer limo! That would work. ;)

Trilby 10-27-2004 01:15 PM

In the match between me and Onyx I will be the victor.

Go easy on smoothmoniker---the young ones can be rather emotional.

xoxoxoBruce 10-27-2004 06:20 PM

All the energy expended in senseless fighting could better be used for great sex. Whatta waste. :(

Bruce makes me wish I was gay.http://www.cellar.org/images/newsmilies/ymca.gif

Undertoad 10-28-2004 08:03 AM

I cannot have the forbidden love with Bruce. But I can study him, admire him and try to be more like him.

Trilby 10-28-2004 04:43 PM

bruce is to be admired by men, loved by women.

Study hard, grasshopper.

OnyxCougar 11-08-2004 04:55 PM

I too, must bow to Her That Is Wolf (tm), but I know Bruce before Mari did. :p

Elspode 11-08-2004 06:16 PM

Bruce *is* a great guy, but just when did this turn into the "let's kill each other to see who gets to fuck him" thread?
